Wesley: Feng Shui. Gunn: Right. What's that mean again? Wesley: That people will believe anything. Actually, in this place, Feng Shui will probably have enormous significance. I'll align my furniture the wrong way and suddenly catch fire or turn into a pudding.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

The NCC-1701--"No A, B, C, or D" to quote Scotty from TNG--is the best ship.

Dibs on USS Defiant (NX-74205).

I hear amych as rhyming with sammitch.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I am having tv scheduling conflict, and find myself watching American Idol for the first time this year, out of indecision! My life is hard.

Our wings are not tired.

I hear amych as rhyming with sammitch.

Come to think of it, that's how I hear it too. Not the A-mitch previously reported.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Dibs on USS Defiant (NX-74205).

To me, the Defiant just says "tv spaceship," whereas the Enterprises (and their ilk) sorta' transcend that in their design.

Yeah, it sounds corny when I write it out, but that's pretty much how I feel....

Somewhat unrelatedly, a cool picture of the Enterprise (CV-6) taken before the war, when she was still in white paint and had her portholes (which were welded shut when war was imminent): [link]

eta: A famous still from a film of a bomb at the moment it detonated on the flight deck: [link] (This bomb was defective, and caused relatively little damage. But in the upper left, you can see smoke from a previous bomb hit that set off the powder for some anti-aircraft guns, killing about 30 men.)

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

::pets Jesse::

It's ammitch, of course. Add an s, you got sammich.

Um, Gunn, Moya, Mal, and the pirate the Uhura actor played in the Caribbean movies, 'cause, rowr.

Late to the couch talk, but I give a happy thumbs up to microfiber. Sitting on upholstery with a nap, like corduroy, chenille, or velvet, wearing shorts on a hot day? Misery. Sitting on a leather or vinyl covered couch in either hot or cold weather, even fully clothed? Unpleasant. Microfiber is damn comfy in all states of dress and un, and in all weathers.

One point: if you're buying a sofa with loose cushions for the back, for the love of puppies, don't buy one with knife-edged cushions. We did, and the damned covers skew and creep their way around the cushion form, and the cushions are always weird-shaped and saggy. Boxed-edged is the way to go because they keep their soft, cushy shape better.

I swear, I need to find a place to buy stripper bras. The circumference is shrinking faster than the rest and the placement is such that department store bras are just not working at all.

“Not dead yet!”

That looks really nice, sara. However, you go from talk of needing stripper bras to discussing something hung and my mind went straight to the gutter.

IJS...

hip deep in pie

My brain went to the same place, Barb.

Uh. Oh. Sorry?

I need to line up the bookcase a bit.
