Tara: What's so bad about them coming here? Aren't they good guys? I mean, Watchers, that's just like whole other Gileses, right? Buffy: Yes! They're scary and horrible!

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

I lived with a black rat snake in the house for many years. It was ill-tempered but otherwise not a problem. With one on the door like that, I'd probably try to shoo it away with a stick.

One of the photos on my wall is of me holding a rattlesnake on a snake-hook when I was about 20. Frelling thing was heavy.

I'm definitely more afraid of spiders than snakes, but I give both their due respect.

I'd scream like the girl that I am and then tell a story about how cool I was and make every one else scream.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

I respect snakes, but I have pretty much zero fear of them. Spiders are another matter. I'm not phobic, but they get the pulse rate going a bit.

If there were a snake on my back door I would be racing for the camera.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Oooh -- I didn't check Beep Me before I started reading this morning, so I'm guessing that Sparky had a Blessed Event! Yeehaw!

Oh, and I came late to the snake discussion, but I know from Actual Experience that I'd grab a camera and start snapping away. In my case it was a teensy garter snake on the sidewalk on my Somerville street, but the principle is the same.

(Possibly, I'd check E-Bay to see if there's a thriving trade in ginormous black rat snakes, because if that there snake is money on the hoof (so to speak) I'd be tempted.)

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Yay Sparky! Yay Family Fras!

Congrats Sparky and Welcome Babyfras!

In other news? Noah is on day three of no sleep. He has canker sores in his mouth, akin to the ones I got as a kid (example of bad genetics). So he wakes up every 45 minutes or so crying. Which means I wake up too. And I too have had no more than sips of sleep for 3 days. I want to cry so badly.

Grace has made a trip to the PICU last night (including kicking someone out of the only single room in the ER at Huntington) at 11:00 PM. She has pneumonia on top of her rotovirus. Poor boo.

The universe needs to back the fuck off.
