I kissed him, and I told him that I loved him. And I killed him.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

We have so much art it's not even funny. One of the great things about the new house is all the bare walls--new spots for old art--and maybe for some that never made it onto a wall, even after it was framed. And dude--maybe the unframed stuff might even make it up!

Uh, we may have a problem. I'm looking at what is probably fiber-based wallboard over steel studs, which means special anchors to hang lightweight stuff, and really no safe way to hang heavy stuff.

So here's what I'm thinking. If we run a course of picture rail about 4 inches down from the ceiling all around every wall but the baths and kitchen, into every nook and around every jog, and paint it the same color as the wall and screwed into the studs? We can hang pretty much anything. Groupings will be hard, and we'll buy out the local tackle store in 50-lb test, but at least we'll have dressed walls!

I never had this problem with plaster over lath. Tall furniture and wall hung shelves gobbling wall space, yes. But a nail or a picture hook, and you could hang just about anything just about anywhere. Including my preference of groupings of small pieces rather than one large canvas to fill a wall. The new space is going to take some getting used to.

“Not dead yet!”

If I hadn't stuffed myself stupid at Ruby Tuesday's, belle's dinner would sound very, very yum.

We're about to get stormed on, but good. I love the way it looks outside right now, the deep gray/black cloud cover obscuring daylight and bringing a premature dusk as thunder rumbles off in the distance. The wind's moving through the trees outside my window and my room seems like an oasis of brightness.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

We pulled up the mess of ivy which had overrun the tiny sideyard of the house. We don't ever go back there so it was easy to ignore, but it was getting crazy. While there, we realized the runoff pipe ofr the bathroom sink was leaking--then we realized it was leaking because it had totally rusted through. Oops!

Plumber will be called tomorrow.

Uh oh. What's a runoff pipe?

Problem with living 5 minutes from work: living 5 minutes from work. Critical system needed rebooting and the remote interface wasn't working, meaning one of three manual reboots ( console power down, power force off or unplug.) So that's what I went and did.

So Godboss can't yell at me.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

so.... the "thing" that happened on Friday? mac broke another kid's DS. Possibly because he got frustrated playing the game. The mom of the other kid just called me. mac still won't tell me much. I meet the other mom tomorrow to buy him a new one.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Ugh, msbelle.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Oh, msbelle. That explains a lot. I'm sure it feels huge to him but I'm glad the mystery is solved. I hope he can open up to you about it.

Liv is about a thousand times more defiant than Owen ever was. She just poured water on the bathroom floor and when I told her not to, she looked right at me, said, "NO!" and poured a whole cup onto the floor in front of me. Grrrrr. Pulled her naked little ass out of the tub and ended bath time right there with her crying and screaming the whole time I dressed her. I swear she loves seeing how far she can push me.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

You can't say that kids don't know right from wrong. They just deal...differently.

I have had this headache for five days now, with only brief interruptions. There's no point seeking ER help, since as long as I have the tenderness on the back of my head it will keep coming right back. Migraine meds push it back for an hour or so, but I should probably save the two pills I have left for something more tractable.

This hurts all the way down to my knees. I'm going to snap in a second.

I'm glad the mystery is solved. Timing is unfortunate. Without him admitting to it yet, taking him along for the purchase won't work.

Basically everything I am reading on my walls indicates they are a BITCH to hang things on. Great.

eta; oh, ita, that sucks so bad.
