one of the curries. Use up what needs it most, frozen will stay good.

Just came back from getting a new motorcycle jacket. My old one gave up the ghost after 10 years and we are about to go on a week-long trip through some places with fairly extreme weather, so it was time. I did not succumb to the lure of the really bitching leather jacket I tried on and went with a practical and comfortable jacket, which was somewhat bitching itself. [link]
We got it for $140, which is even better!
Perkins, I think that';s a sign that you should go to the movies!
I think Scrappy's right.
Cool Jacket, Scrappy.
Hot day for baseball, david.
Okay, this virus won't quit me, and my mother won't quit hounding me with her "I'm a retired nurse, I know more than these automaton doctors do! It's swine flu! Go to the emergency room!"
Fuck if I'm going to sit in another doctors office or emergency room only to be sent home with a lollipop or actually have to argue with people better educated than I (my mother would beg to differ) that I should get whatever those two shots are that are still working. "But doctor, my mother says you're an idiot who cares for me less than my mechanic cares about my car, less than the clerk at 7-11 who rings up my coffee, so give me the shot, because I, via my mother, am smarter than you. kthx."
Ooh, I like that jacket, Scrappy.
My DH took the kids to give me a bit of time to get ready for a dept party tonight. It says something about me (and probably not something good) that I spent the first 20 minutes puttering about looking for paperwork that I need to fill out. Weirdo!
Julibird, how long have you been sick? Are you getting better, worse , staying the same?
Fevers, viruses, etc take longer to break as an adult.
and if you have had the virus awhile, it maybe to late for the flu cure.
I get what your mom is doing, she is mom plus nurse. DH's mom does the same thing. You just really have to know yourself. and If you aren't sure, lean on the cautious side.
I like the movie idea, though I was thinking nap.
I had the spaghetti and soy balls. Didn't really feel like doing all the chopping I'd need to do to make the curry, and I figured I'd leave the leftovers until a time when I really need something I can just pop in the microwave.
(I hate my kitchen counter. It's too high, and cutting up vegetables ends up with my shoulders at a really awkward angle. I think I got spoiled from cooking in my parents' kitchen -- there's a place there where you can sit down, in a chair at the right height for the counter, and still be able to reach the sink to rinse things off or put scraps in the disposal.)
beth, I've been having sinus/migraine issues (pollen plus dental work is a deadly combo) for the past month, Monday it turned into nasal drip and sore throat, Tuesday full-on snot fest with a Claritan that made me high and dizzy, Wednesday morning I had a fever, all three days I'd been going to bed at 6pm. Thursday was the worst day, the works coming out of every orifice, sweats, chills, body aches, Friday I felt wonderful, went to the doctor, got the brush off, felt nauseous again, migraine is back, slightly stuffy, slightly nauseous. Chest hurts from hacking. But, otherwise, not so bad.
Being in my thirties sucks, because I'm still holding onto the twenties mentality of "I'm young and healthy and if I wait, it'll go away".
I just really really hate and distrust doctors. I do believe they have as much job integrity as a highschool fastfood employee (apologies to any doctors or nurses here, this is my own consistent personal experience) and I'm sick of having to hit them over the head with the idea that something is wrong and still getting "well, I don't see anything, so I'm not gonna bother with tests, and therefore nothing is wrong".
Just typing this makes me want to cry in frustration.
