Everybody dies, Tracey. Someone's carrying a bullet for you right now, doesn't even know it. The trick is to die of old age before it finds you.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I had the spaghetti and soy balls. Didn't really feel like doing all the chopping I'd need to do to make the curry, and I figured I'd leave the leftovers until a time when I really need something I can just pop in the microwave.

(I hate my kitchen counter. It's too high, and cutting up vegetables ends up with my shoulders at a really awkward angle. I think I got spoiled from cooking in my parents' kitchen -- there's a place there where you can sit down, in a chair at the right height for the counter, and still be able to reach the sink to rinse things off or put scraps in the disposal.)

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

beth, I've been having sinus/migraine issues (pollen plus dental work is a deadly combo) for the past month, Monday it turned into nasal drip and sore throat, Tuesday full-on snot fest with a Claritan that made me high and dizzy, Wednesday morning I had a fever, all three days I'd been going to bed at 6pm. Thursday was the worst day, the works coming out of every orifice, sweats, chills, body aches, Friday I felt wonderful, went to the doctor, got the brush off, felt nauseous again, migraine is back, slightly stuffy, slightly nauseous. Chest hurts from hacking. But, otherwise, not so bad.

Being in my thirties sucks, because I'm still holding onto the twenties mentality of "I'm young and healthy and if I wait, it'll go away".

I just really really hate and distrust doctors. I do believe they have as much job integrity as a highschool fastfood employee (apologies to any doctors or nurses here, this is my own consistent personal experience) and I'm sick of having to hit them over the head with the idea that something is wrong and still getting "well, I don't see anything, so I'm not gonna bother with tests, and therefore nothing is wrong".

Just typing this makes me want to cry in frustration.

aaaand, my fever's back.

This cannot be happening two weeks before the biggest fundraiser at work and two weeks before I move.

And the new landlady hasn't replied in five days and now I'm paranoid that she rented the place out to someone else.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

Sounds like you should go back to the doctor Monday.

My DH had an issue , that went on for years and he was annoyed that it went on so long. But he saw the doctor once every 6 months -- not often enough for the doctor to make the connection.

One of the symptoms of an illness is how long it goes on. In your case it looks like a bad cold, but the time length might suggest a sinus infection.

BTW, are you taking allergy meds everyday? I am always amazed that most people don't understand that part of how allergy mes work is by keeping a constant level of the histamine blockers in your system.

Anyway, feel free to ignore everything I've said -- I am not a doctor. This is just what I have experienced having 2 people with chronic conditions.

I'm not taking any allergy meds, because the only symptoms that I am/have been having that they are indicated for is solved by acetaminophen. I just took one that one day where I ended up stoned and unable to think at work or sit at any angle other than diagonal.

Well, at least when I go to the doctor I know that I should give them EVERY SINGLE SYMPTOM I've had for the past month for the past three springs and not emphasize the flu-like symptoms while still including them. But then I'm back at the problem of having them not listen to a word I say and pack me on home with expensive tylenol.

Someone else said it might be sinus infection (before the viral stuff started happening), the dentist said it's me grinding my teeth at night, would I like a $500 nightguard?

Compassionately intolerant

The thing about buying stuff with stolen credit cards is that the vast majority is resold in cash transactions which makes them hella hard to track. The person gets caught but the ticket isn't in their possession.

I hung 3 things on the walls today: a mirror next to the door, a shelf & hooks contraption in the kitchen and a painted batik from Zimbabwe at the top of the stairs.

I think I've figured out where I want to hang my two matching curio triangle shelves: next to the sconces in the middle room. But I need to get new hardware to do that, since it is plaster. Good thing the new hardware store is opening tomorrow! (Not today, I had the dates wrong.) I could have got stuff at Home Despot, but since they are new and close and posted to the listserv, I want to give them a shot. Besides, it is a local Ace franchiser, and Ace seems to have the glass shelves I want to put in the bathroom.

I think I am going to go ahead and hang my trio of artwork from my childhood friend in the bedroom tomorrow.

Once I get blinds, I want to get a quilt hanger for the awesome quilt I have: [link] I want to put it on a bed for use, but when not in use, I'd like it displayed. I think I can do that on the closet bedroom wall.

This morning I went to a farmer's market. I can see this becoming part of my life, and it's just so... this is my life. This is my new life. In my house in an awesome little hood.

Sarameg, I love hearing about how the house is coming together.

Perkins, I hope the credit card issue gets all resolved quickly. It's scary how quickly it happens.

ita & msbelle, better days for both of you.

We spent most of the afternoon at a neighborhood party where I scoped out people with infants who I may need to befriend soon. Scary!

I am very much looking forward to doing a housewarming. But probably not until fall. I want to get more put together and have a safe deck by then. You'll have to come up, Sparky! There will be other littles too! (Same goes to all other locals.) I figure I'll just do an afternoon to whenever thing on a saturday.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Currently up, The Professionals. I'm about halfway through the season I have on disc. I love me some Bodie and Doyle.

Ooh, I love the theme music. It captures the very essence of 70s TV action series.
