So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

What's changed in your life in the last five years?

Got a new cat, had a baby, lost two aunts, saw my mother fight off cancer (so far, so good), got an adult job, lost weight, regained weight, bought a new to us house, father-in-law lost a lobe of his lung, failed to sell old house (not so much a change, that, though).

Coding and Sleeping

In the last five years so little has changed in my life it is almost scary. The kids have gotten taller.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

shrift! The name of your company does not contain a comma, correct?

(Yes, I did get asked this as a serious research question).

I had a client that would get seriously tetchy if there was a comma between [corporate name] and Inc. "We spent millions of dollars on our branding campaign!" etc.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

The "traditional" fifth-year anniversary gift is Wood, and the "modern" is Silverware.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

In the last five years so little has changed in my life it is almost scary. The kids have gotten taller.

Actually, Gud, I think that stability has been a huge accomplishment with a lot of work in it.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Hmmmm . . . since May 2004 I have:

lost both parents to cancer

gotten a new job

gotten a promotion at the job after it became less new

moved

got a tattoo

got a cat

and traveled to Senegal.

Quite the mix.
