Coding and Sleeping

My wife is a serious vermicomposter so for Mother's Day Emaryn gave her a bottle with rotting leaves and a bunch of worms she collected. It was pretty cute.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Actually, that's a picture of Abby that was taken as part of a school project and that she very proudly presented to me for Mother's Day.

Very nice!

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

My brother came home from Vermont for Mother's Day. I can't top that.

(Actually, he came home last Monday, for a week, and it was because the restaurant was closed for renovations; it just happened to be over Mother's Day. Lucky bastard.)

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

So flying into Atlanta it looks like Delta, AirTran and Frontier are my options. Which should I avoid?

“Not dead yet!”

Atlanta's the hub for Delta, but as far as I'm concerned, they're the Debbil. I can't remember the last time I had an on-time flight connection with Delta and their counter/customer service employees have been completely insensitive jackasses.

Air Tran's not much better, IMO.

The one and only time I flew Frontier, I fell immediately in love with them. They're like the western U.S. equivalent of JetBlue and I was highly sad when they stopped providing service to Jacksonville. Flying with them reminded me of what flying used to be like-- fun. Plus, they had the most leg room of any other airline outside of JetBlue that I can recall.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I've run into delays due to worrisome mechanical difficulties on a number of Air Tran flights. The ticket agents and flight attendants were nice about everything, but I think I might prefer dealing with snotty employees since their attitudes lack the potential to make skydiving a new unintentional hobby of mine.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

We're going to see Tanglefoot in concert tonight. Yay!

It's their final tour. Boo! (They have been performing in some configuration for 25 years, so I guess they're entitled to move on or retire or whatever the members are doing.)

Too bad Frontier doesn't have a non-stop flight. It's like four extra hours of travel for the better service and leg room.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I like Delta, but I'm sure familiarity is part of it. I've had more trouble on other airlines.
