“Not dead yet!”

I'm am weirdly flaily and without direction at the moment. I don't have anything I have to be doing and I'm not sure what I want to be doing, with respect to writing.

Hm. I'm more than a bit worried that all of the push/pull of the last couple of years has completely sapped me of creativity.

About to upstairs to watch the launch. This is actually probably the only Servicing Mission launch I'll have seen live (well, live on feed.) The rest during my time were night launches.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Am eating lunch while watching NASA TV.

Unless I heard it wrong, it seems FCM is go for launch.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Did you all know that there is a Microsoft narrator? I did not know that until this morning, when kripkat curled up on the laptop on the dresser, and the computer started telling us (in a robotic voice) everything his butt was doing.

Also Bob and his mother do "rabbits rabbits."

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Upstate New York = North of the Bronx.

Emmett's home sick today with a head cold. No fever though and he still wants to play in our game tonight. We are very short on players so we'll play it by ear.

Unlike Emaryn's team, we're 2-10 on the season. I need to paint unicorns on their faces.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I just found out that the son of a friend has been exposed to a kid on his softball team that's been positively diagnosed with Swine Flu. The world seems a little smaller than I thought.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

"Rabbits rabbits rabbits" just makes me think of that Spaced "Art" episode, that finished with Daisy doing performance art saying "rabbits rabbits rabbits" over and over again.

Lunch was the cafeteria's version of London Broil (actually, not too bad--the cut of beef wasn't too tough this time). Then I got back to my desk and spent the past ten minutes being sent from department to department in the Florida legislature, only to get absolutely no help from the person I ended up speaking with. Feh.

Here in Illinois, our equivalent of "upstate" is "downstate," composed of everything outside the six counties in and around Chicago, including those areas that are technically west of us but are "downstate" nonetheless.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

In NC we refer to "down east," which seems to be pretty much all of the coastal areas, whether or not they're south as well as east of the speaker.

My co-worker is a on sports team with someone who's daughter had it. Which I discovered the day I came down with my cold.
