I have been to the laundromat, came back for a quick lunch of strawberry shortcake and am not off again to purchase bras (because the only one put through the washers is currently trying to kill me) and garden clippers. Among other things.

It is GORGEOUS outside.

I have run my errands and feel pretty good!

Now I have to switch the switches. I've done tiny bits of electrical before, but never in my own home.

I took a DVD that was due last Thursday back to my fave Video store. Instead of dropping it in the slot, I went in to pay the overdue charges, and like every time I try to return in person and pay, they tell me, "There are no fines on this item." Sweet!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

It is GORGEOUS outside.

Seriously. I have laundry in, and it's almost all of my dirty clothes! I often don't do all of it, which is why I always have to do it... This time, I just didn't have enough light colored/cold water stuff for a load, but other than that, it's all in.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Yeah, I have to inform you, there's a pretty rigid gender demarcation between laying the eggs and poisoning the omelettes.

She lays eggs. He poisons them. They fight crime.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Wait, *I* have to lay the eggs?!?

Clearly I didn't read the fine print.

“Not dead yet!”

I guess I don't get out much; I don't think I've ever seen anything she's been in.

First thing I ever saw her in was as Kevin Constner's wife in The Untouchables.

ION, I am in a gigantic food coma at the moment. Brunch with my in-laws at their country club and copious amounts of shrimp and roast beef were consumed along with an interesting Eggs Benedict (biscuit instead of English muffin for the base-- tasty, but too fragile).

The dessert buffet was obscene. Chocolate fountains and all sorts of tasty cakes and pies and petit fours. I tried a tuxedo brownie cheesecake that was, unbelievably, too sweet. (Let's put it this way-- the coconut cream pie seemed almost bitter afterwards.)

But it was all good and a good time was had by all.

We may go to a movie later, but right now, coma nap is winning out.

I was going to say it's beautiful here too, but I just went upstairs and it's raining! Which sucks on the one hand, but OTOH, I really need to mow the lawn and I really didn't want to, so I am saved for the rest of the day.

Also, just replaced the switch in my bedroom. And it works without sparks or pops. I am so handy!

I am almost inspired to start replacing light fixtures, but the 60 year old wiring still scares me.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I just got some interesting spam. It informed me that I've won the Irish lottery. Never seen that one before.

I'm also somewhat amused at all the ads for cheap Tamiflu that I'm getting.
