I really wonder when this young kid in my office will learn not to involve me in his silly conversations...
kid gets out a bottle of AXE from drawer
female co-worker - "don't use that, no woman likes AXE"
kid - "really?" "huh. maybe that explains...chuckle chuckle"
kid asks another female co-worker if she thinks it smells bad
other female co-worker - "well, it doesn't smell good"
kid - "let me ask (my name)"
me - "You do not want to get the old lady involved" (what I call warning banter)
kid - laughing "no really..."
me - "fine, if you want an excuse for why you got nothing going on, then keep wearing it."
kid "!!!!!"
me - "I told you not to involve me".
rest of office - HA FUCKING HA
This weekend we are going to CT to see my grandma, to see a friend's play, and to hang with my mom (and grandma) for Mother's Day. Down tomorrow, back Sunday.
I was looking around the Aparment Therapy site Lisah linked to and found a discussion of "the trend of color-coordinating your books." I felt a weird wave of nausea. But I am a book freak. Books are to be read, consulted, drooled over. The idea of just having books because you like the color is . . . weird. One comment said, "When I wanted to buy another white book, the shelf was too tight, so I had to move things down, and it messed everything up."
Book snob, another tag that never closes.
Snake drainspout, haircut, Home Despot, laundry, new underwear, make strawberry shortcakes, bbq @ neighbor's, stuff.
Speaking of old lady: It was my minion's birthday yesterday, and I was assuming she was turning 25. NO. 24! I laughed and laughed. No wonder she thinks I'm so old! Because I am.
Tonight: Put my feet up
Tomorrow: Meet mother, sister & niece for lunch somewhere between here and Richmond for Mother's Day. Go see movie and have dinner with DH. Put my feet up.
Sunday: Chores. Put my feet up.
sarameg, have you tried just sticking a hose into the top of the drainspout and flushing it out? That's all I've ever done to clear them, seems to work.
Weekend: Mostly events with JZ's family celebrating (locally) her brother's marriage to his partner, with a bit of Little League on the side.
Tonight: hosting the Friday night geek-fest
Tomorrow: nothing solid. I'll probably ramble over to the Farmer's Market and get some strawberries, see if the nursery has some plants I've been waiting on, etc. I know I won't be color coordinating my book shelves.
Sunday: Star Trek and dinner with friends
