Zoe: Is there any way I'm gonna get out of this with honor and dignity? Wash: You're pretty much down to ritual suicide, lambie-toes.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Stuff my cat loves: scratching at TV and computer screens; the plastic collar on B&J pints; chip bag plastic (thicker to resist cat teeth); her kitty crack pad; her scratching board that I took off the chair arm and now just leave on the dining room floor, where she'll attack it indiscriminately.

Stuff my cat has to protect me against: the evil birds and squirrels in the tree and, occasionally, on the balcony.

Librarian Warlord

Things my dog loves: 1. dirty socks. 2. used tissues 3. worms.

She's adorable, but her choices remind me she's all dog.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

My cat is obsessed by used tissues, hairbands, bags, boxes, and occasionally the cat toys that I bought for his amusement.

His ongoing war with squirrels shall someday be a three-part movie with special effects by Weta and Animal Planet.

Because books.

Lucy (dog) used to pick used tissues and Q-tips out of the bathroom garbage.

Puck (cat) used to love brown grocery bags tipped on their sides, and would curl up in them for hours.

Pets are weird.

I'm copyediting, watching S3 BtVS, and trying to survive a sinus infection. So far, my sinuses are totally winning.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Crumpled up paper is the most reliable cat toy I have.

I am waiting for the dishwasher to cycle through rinsing so I can take a shower. Then, quilt shop, yay!

“Not dead yet!”

Well, I think I have achieved emotional connection for lead character.

Thank freakin' GOD.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I am at work, on the desk, chipper except for stressing out about my hair.

We can fix it!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

One time, my grandmother was catsitting for my aunts, and she couldn't figure out why their otherwise neat house had trash all over the floor! Right, crumpled-paper cat toys.

Of course, my grandmother is really not a pet person, and one time let a neighbor cat into the house, thinking it was one of the cats that lived there. Oops! (All three were black.)

That happened to a friend of mine when he came to feed my cats. He scooped up the fluffy cat that was meowing at the front door while his wife read the note I had left saying how standoffish and not cuddly my cats were. "Pshaw," he said, cuddling the cat. Then she got to the part where all three of mine are calicos and the one he was holding was all white...
