Good morning Buffistas! I seem to have discovered a miracle cure for cramps, although it involves taking a prescription muscle relaxer not for the purpose intended. I took a half a flexeril prescribed for my back plus 2 ibuprofen and had relief for 10 hours! I am usually taking 4 - 6 ibuprofen every 4 hours and not getting full pain relief.
So now I wonder if I should try to get my Dr. to prescribe them for cramps or if I should try to go to Canada where they are OTC. When I was a kid in the eighties, everyone's mom seemed to have muscle relaxers for their period, but they don't seem to give them out like candy anymore.
I did the same thing! I discussed it with my ObGyn and he gave me a perscription for enough Flexoril for the first two nights of my period. It knocks me out cold so I can only do it at night and the first two are the worst.
Gah. Mac slept over with a friend last night, it is the third time he has slept over at this friend's place. Each time, I have had a commitment the next day where I need to pick mac mac up or have him home by a certain time. The last 2 times I was picking him up, so I just called when I was leaving, I WOKE the parents up both times. This time I walked him over yesterday (a mile and a half in 20 degree weather) and thought they said they would drive him back today. I made sure to tell them more than once when I needed him home today. Well when it was 10 min to the time he needed to be here, I called. No, they had not left, no they were not ready, she was cooking a meal for them all - the boys (and not just hers and mine, but more who had come over, boys I do not know) had been up until 4AM! WTF lady. I asked her to bring him home and explained that other people were coming here to see him, we had plans which I had explained yesterday, it is important to me that we keep our word with people who are traveling to see us. LAST TIME. No more sleepovers at that house.
ION, I have re-grouted the parts of my shower that needed it, and I didn't even mess up my nails. I guess I'll know in a week or so if it is gonna stay in.
and now mac discovers he left several toys at the sleepover house. great.
I'm watching football rather than do more housework.
Holy crapdamn, Adam Clayton looks amazing
Joining Barb in the shallow end of the pool--he looked hawt!!
I was able to dvr the concert as well as the Helen Thomas doc that followed. That was interesting to see--I can't wait for Obama's first presidential press conference, when he can call on Helen first as is right and proper. (Damn W for being a rude asshole!)
I did not know about the free HBO until after the concert, but it's being rerun at 7 so I'm TiFauxing to watch after D goes to bed.
Oh, and I have to share a Dylan Likes Carrots moment.
DH and I both forgot about the long weekend on Friday, so we are sans bagels for tomorrow morning and were talking about what we have in the house that could pass as breakfast. (It's either going to be ricotta pancakes or migas - depends what kind of cooking mood I'm in when we wake up.) Meanwhile Dylan is playing with a puzzle on the floor and out of nowhere he stands up and shouts "APPLESAUCE!" We had no idea he had been listening, but apparently he wanted to put his vote in! It was too funny.
Watching the rerun on free HBO. I'm going to be a pathetic blubbering fool by the end. Overwhelmed by the awesome moment in our history. Imma sap here. Not fighting it since it feels good.
From Cracked: 5 World Leaders Who Were Accused of Being the Antichrist
Hmm, my money would have been on Holy Roman Emperor Frederick II.
That's cute, Jess!
msbelle, hope the only remaining drama tonight is football. Those parents sound...annoying.
I'm getting excited about this trip. (As opposed to trepidation about the logistics and missing work.) It's less about actually being able to witness that exact moment, more about being part of a bunch of people who are there to celebrate something positive and important. (And lets me get all civics-geeked out. Thanks, Mr. Smith!) Getting to share that with Taylor is special.
