this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

David, did you try putting ice on your leg? Also take ibuprofen.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Heh. How's Ryan? How's the Wallybee?

They're just wonderful. I expect to bring them home today. Wallybee's moving around more easily, the C-section incision is bothering her less. She has a physio class today about building up again after the birth. Little Ryan is looking very healthy, his hearing and vision are good, he had no trouble working out the whole feeding thing, and he certainly has a decent pair of lungs. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss - if the old boss was prone to bouts of irrational screaming every couple of hours. So, yeah, much like the old boss.

There has been one issue; possibly due to the difficulty of the birth, Wallybee's milk has been taking a while to come in. The colostrum isn't enough anymore to fill him up. Lesson: a hungry baby is not a happy baby. But I think that's all changing now. Her milk was starting to come in last night, which should make our little man happier.

Anyway, it's clear that he has a lot to learn, and we're going to have to start with the fundamentals, by which I mean "Don't dip your scrotum in poo". We'll see if he's a fast learner.

So, yeah. They're just wonderful.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

C-sections tend to delay milk coming in. Mine did but it eventually came in in gallons.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

David, did you try putting ice on your leg? Also take ibuprofen.

Ibuprofen - check.

Ice - uh...I went with the heat pad and now it's more stiff.

Going with ice.

"Don't dip your scrotum in poo"

Yeah, that's going to take a couple years.

As Aims notes, the milk will come. Have you had fun with miconium yet?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Extra note: Aimee, JZ, Wallybee - all had C-sections.

The general rule is to ice an injury (20 minutes on, 2 minutes off) within the first day or so after the injury, and then switch to heat. Unless, of course, the ice makes you miserable, in which case, throw out rule #1.

You know you can take 4 ibuprofen at a time, right? But if you take that many, try to space the doses 6-8 hours apart.

And if you imbibe enough alcohol, you probably won't feel anything, which will at least get rid of the pain temporarily.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Anyway, it's clear that he has a lot to learn, and we're going to have to start with the fundamentals, by which I mean "Don't dip your scrotum in poo". We'll see if he's a fast learner.

And after that, you have to deal with the whole, "don't dip your fingers in poo." In fact, watch the "is that chocolate or poop" scene in Baby Mama to fully prep for that day, m'kay?

And don't forget, no pooping in the bathtub or in the backyard, while we're at it.

He's past the meconium now, into transitionals.

Yeah, there are some things in respect of which I don't really feel the need for visual confirmation.

I took 3.

Plus whiskey.

Looking at the symptoms online I'm suspecting a partial tear to the tendon, but there's no bruising. It is a bit swollen though. WTF? Was just walking. Stupid soft tissue injury.

At least it's not my knee?

"already on the kiss-cam with Karl Marx"-

did you trip? Because my mom tore her tendon, but she was jumping a fence.
