I think it will only glorify him to put him in ads or on talk shows or to let him get paid to play a game again. If you want to discourage cruelty toward animals, show that this wealthy football player turned into a ex-con minimum-wage schmo because of it.

So far my Saturday has been enlivened by a toilet overflowing. But, as a consequence, the bathroom floor has been thoroughly mopped -- twice, with Lysol -- by me and should now be barefoot safe. Except that I'll also have to scrub out the bathtub.
