Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Has it already started?

YES. Today is Furlough Friday. Good times.

I would like a massage!! Although I did have one two weeks ago...

I'd be okay with Furlough Fridays if I actually got the day off. Instead we are having a "strike" for one day. LAme.

I'd be ok with Furlough Fridays for a while.

There was a raison in my pumpernickle bagel - not right.

No. it' not right at all.

I think what irks me about the work stoppage is that it proves nothing, messes with my years of service for retirement and requires me to take either an unpaid day off or to take one of my days as PN.

I'm really tempted to take the thursday before + the friday as sick days and give myself a long weekend?

We've only had one furlough paycheck so far, so we'll see how I feel about it next month. So far, the days off are great!

I just had to cut off my nails because one was breaking way down. Sad! I'm still surprised I can grow my nails past my fingers.

I hate my sick day situation this year. At 9 days taken, things are triggered for it to be noted in your review - maybe nothing happens, but whatever. I am at 4.5 days already. In addition, I have already taken 2.5 of the 3 personal days I get. And I know I am just feeling like a day off because the March/April stretch of no holidays. Thing is though, because I am my own worst enemy, the next three holidays look like this: travel, family staying with us, US Open & family staying with us.

Today is slow, I'm documenting source code which is about as exciting as watching paint dry. As someone who has had a job involving watching paint dry, I speak from experience.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Our biggest client just replaced their SQL/web server with a much more powerful one, running SQL Server 2008. Now for some reason we're having all sorts of performance issues as we experience the Friday rush of everyone entering their time. Also, the performance monitoring stuff in SQL 2008 is all new and weird....

So I'm helping my boss with that. At least it's making the day go by fast.
