He looks so much like his brother, it's funny. All kids looked like each other at birth, but the eldest, Miss P, is a slight blond (as you can see from the pix from last year) and the other boy is a solid, bigheaded brunette. Hell, 1st grader A is as tall as his 3rd grader sister. T looks like his head won't be as big at his brother, but the coloring seems to be sticking. They are really poster kids for Italian-Polish mergers, so cute.
I'm trying to hook Loki on catnip. Since the cat toy I got at the store (what was I thinking?) seems to be viewed with distrust, not sure....
Uh, it makes him crazy and lacking of suspicion. That was fast. Good to know!
Holy shit, this must be some good kitty pot. MK actually sought out Loki to play and Devi is rolling around in it, ignoring the tempting kitten play. Neither of those two have ever really done more than just close investigation of the stuff before.
My niece sent her kids over to my sister's house knowing they had head lice and didn't say ANYTHING to my sister. My sister found out when she took the kids to get their hair cut.
WTF? Who does that to someone?
I can't be the only one who would have sent them home bald as cue balls and said "Problem solved!," can I?
Ugh, that's seriously awful, Cash. I'd be furious.
Yay for kitty pot. Yay for lessened tensions in kittyland.
Well, Dave's big party is over and it was a big success. It was a "pray for Asia" party, with dishes from different areas of Asia, and the guests had to research their country and tell people about it. Everybody loved Dave's food, and had fun.
Menu was: Yakiniku skewers (Japan), spicy shrimp wrapped in snow peas (China), satay daging with peanut and chili sauce (Malaysia), fried bananas (Indonesia), and mushrooms fried with chicken (Burma). Oh, and cheesecake. I dunno what country that was supposed to be. But it was all yum. I am very glad the SO is on this cooking as a hobby kick.
Anyway, it was fun, and in keeping with my new year's resolution to stop dithering, I also went to the local college's dance recital this afternoon, which I enjoyed muchly. So between that and the party, it was a very social day for me. Yay for people!
Arrived alive. DFW does not have free wifi, boo. Miami is nice and warm, but the baggage area was crazy crowded and confused, didn't get done with baggage and car rental until two hours after landing. Gonna sleep in tomorrow.
I can't be the only one who would have sent them home bald as cue balls and said "Problem solved!," can I?
Yeah, but that's punishing kids for something their idiot mother is a fault for. They're 8 & 10 so bald really wouldn't be fair.
I don't think my niece should be ashamed of the lice--it happens with kids. But to not keep her kids home until she knew the infestation was gone is unconscionable when you consider they could pass it to my sister, her husband and her stepson.
Oh, I think 8 and 10 are perfect ages to be bald for a little.
