Everything looks good from here... Yes. Yes, this is a fertile land, and we will thrive. We will rule over all this land, and we will call it... 'This Land.' I think we should call it 'your grave!' Ah, curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal! Ha ha HA! Mine is an evil laugh! Now die! Oh, no, God! Oh, dear God in heaven!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

In three hours I will be watching a documentary based on my first book and then doing the Q&A afterwards.

It's kind of cool. Maybe I should shave.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

No! Be a scruffy writer-type!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Scruffy writer type has the advantage of validating my laziness.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

Can we have tea while we edit?

Yes. But not cake.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Woohoo, I can haz some contract employment. At least a month's worth, and possibly to the end of September.

This alleviates some of my angst about the dog. I know we did the right thing taking him back, but I'm afraid the people at the shelter probably think we didn't even try. Thank god it's a no-kill shelter.
