Everybody dies, Tracey. Someone's carrying a bullet for you right now, doesn't even know it. The trick is to die of old age before it finds you.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Scruffy writer type has the advantage of validating my laziness.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

Can we have tea while we edit?

Yes. But not cake.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Woohoo, I can haz some contract employment. At least a month's worth, and possibly to the end of September.

This alleviates some of my angst about the dog. I know we did the right thing taking him back, but I'm afraid the people at the shelter probably think we didn't even try. Thank god it's a no-kill shelter.

Enjoy, David!

I caulked my sink. Srsly. Seller hadn't sealed the basin to the counter. So I got some clear caulk and did it myself. There are a lot of weirdly halfasses things like that. Only one coat of paint on the new door and where they replaced a few sills. And they didn't even paint the underside! Pretty sure they didn't sand those prior, either. Stupid little lazy shit.

Upstairs bedroom. Probably stack 2. Probably the balcony one, since eventually there will be a bed in the other room.

Where's a good place other than Ikea to look for free standing cabinets and islands and the like? Not really finding anything that speaks to me at Ikea for that sort of thing.
