Skipping to report: Israel has accepted the unilateral cease fire.
My feelings about it has been posted over at Bitches.
Oh, Shir, I was hoping they'd get a decent cease fire agreement. It's too bad it's so one-sided.
ImememeN, I'm debating if I want to go out tonight. Another board (Shakesville) is having a Bye-Bye Bush party in Evanston, and I'm fighting my normal winter tendency to want to cocoon on the weekends and get things done around here. The party might be fun, but I'd have to shlep a good hour away to get there, and I'd have to start getting ready soon if I want to make it in time. But I'm cold and just want to stay in and clean my apartment and play with my cat and finish downloading my music into iTunes.
I guess I'm just not in a social mood right now.
I am going to an Inauguration Day breakfast that'll be much less stressful (people I know, daytime event, not so tired as I am now), so I'm thinking that that could be my social event of the week.
ita - it is required with the type of Visa he came in on, usually people do it 6 mos after they arrive, but I, well life.
sara - glad they finally arrived.
Grrr. We're supposed to get (possibly) 3-5 inches of snow during the overnight into tomorrow, and temps are supposed to get above freezing on Sunday. Nevertheless, Salem is issuing a snow emergency (aka parking ban).
What the FUCKING FUCK???!??!? I have driveway I can park in, but still, this is overreaction taken to the Nth degree in my opinion. Am I wrong? Is this not unreasonable (i.e. the parking ban)? I feel really bad for people who DON'T have a driveway they can park in.
Yeah, we're moving my mom's car in our driveway but our neighbors (who do not have a driveway) are out of town and their car is on the street. So... hopefully they won't get towed or anything!
I think the snow emergency call is totally lame.
A total parking ban is pretty drastic. Do they do alternate side of the street parking at all, Frank? That's what Madison does in the winter. Everyone parks on one side one day and the other the next. That way they can plow to one curb at least and leave enough room for two lanes of traffic.
What does a parking bnan mean? Where are the cars supposed togo?
Man, do I love having a nail place less than a block away. Pedi ahoy.
Salem has teeny tiny winding streets from the 16th century, so when they need to get plows through they need all the space they can get. So that's why they have the draconian snow parking ban... but in this case I think they are being pretty cavalier to the disruption this causes to many people for a pretty low amount of snow. On a weekend. When it will get warmer.
seems overly harsh to me
