Illyria: We cling to what is gone. Is there anything in this life but grief? Wesley: There's love. There's hope...for some. There's hope that you'll find something worthy...that your life will lead you to some joy...that after everything...you can still be surprised. Illyria: Is that enough? Is that enough to live on?

ita, yikes. I wish I could ________ for you. You can fill in that blank anyway you'd like. Or if you need anything, please let me know.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yes.

I am so glad my boss is out today. She was on the rampage yesterday, mostly about something else, but it kept spilling over on to me, and UGH.

hip deep in pie

So I am a little chilled, sneezing and tired. I think I am on the verge of a cold. One of my co-workers is freaking out that I might have the flu. The six emails we've gotten about the bird flu over the last two days maybe feeding her paranoia.

mac was feeling not great this morning and I was fearing flu, but he had no fever, so I shoved him off to school.

t rant

Things are going to be uncomfortable around some things at work for a while. Basically some people have not been pulling their share in an area and I have been passive about it because I am unwilling to 1) take on more work 2) confront them agressively 3) go tattle to the boss - now it is impacting someone else and they have no problem doing 1 and 2 and they started down that path yesterday. A meeting has been called today and a non-weight puller has stopped by my desk to make "see that I am ok" and reassure me that he is ready to start taking some things off my plate. I hope it comes to pass, but I need to get prepared to get called on some stuff in the next few days. Basically since no one has been making this particular area a focal point, I have not been my most dilligent. ugh. hate.

There are certainly other things I'd rather be doing right now.

Emaryn had another soccer game last night and her team won 4-0. It was a truly estrogen dominated game. Emaryn's team is all girls and the other team had one girl and the rest boys, but the girl on the other team was far and away their best player. It would have been much more lopsided, but the girl on the other team played goalie the first half and cleared out a lot of balls.

Emaryn was playing a lot less aggressively so she didn't score any goals this game. I was also concerned when Emaryn was playing goalie because she's kinda bad at it. I always fear that the other team will score a lot while she's goalie and it will get her down (it has happened before though she didn't take it that hard). She just wants to kick the ball away as goalie instead of getting down and grabbing it. Fortunately she was goalie at the same time the girl on the other team was goalie, so she didn't really have to do anything.

It was the kind of game where you start feeling really bad for the other team. They were just no match physically or skill wise.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Colbert Eats an Ewok

Stephen pulled out all the nerd-stops on last night's Report. First he featured the Stephen Colbert Transformer, and then he ate a damn Ewok.

The only good Ewok is a marinated and slow roasted Ewok.
