Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Meh, work sucks.

There are certainly other things I'd rather be doing right now.

Emaryn had another soccer game last night and her team won 4-0. It was a truly estrogen dominated game. Emaryn's team is all girls and the other team had one girl and the rest boys, but the girl on the other team was far and away their best player. It would have been much more lopsided, but the girl on the other team played goalie the first half and cleared out a lot of balls.

Emaryn was playing a lot less aggressively so she didn't score any goals this game. I was also concerned when Emaryn was playing goalie because she's kinda bad at it. I always fear that the other team will score a lot while she's goalie and it will get her down (it has happened before though she didn't take it that hard). She just wants to kick the ball away as goalie instead of getting down and grabbing it. Fortunately she was goalie at the same time the girl on the other team was goalie, so she didn't really have to do anything.

It was the kind of game where you start feeling really bad for the other team. They were just no match physically or skill wise.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Colbert Eats an Ewok

Stephen pulled out all the nerd-stops on last night's Report. First he featured the Stephen Colbert Transformer, and then he ate a damn Ewok.

The only good Ewok is a marinated and slow roasted Ewok.

Heh. When I played high school soccer, at some point they made a friend of mine play in goal (I think we had no decent goalie, and she was the best defender). Anyway, she was known for her long nails. Needless to say, she never touched the ball with her hands. She was still a pretty good goalie.

Oh, ita. Lotta wishes for you.

Kathy, your pictures made me miss the desert.

So I broke my early morning streak big time today. Forgot to set the alarm, it is overcast and cool so the cats were all on the bed so neither the sun nor they woke me, then had to take the trash out and when I came in, discovered Loki halfway down the basement stairs, which meant I had to find Devi to make sure she hadn't gotten down there, or worse, out, and then couldn't find her and was frantic and just after I'd looked everywhere, she pops out of a wormhole at the top of the stairs, and then I remember I didn't make my lunch, did that, and still had to stop at the store on my way in. So I got here at my usual "late" time to discover I have to cover for someone today. And I forgot to brush my teeth.

Meh.

Colbert Eats an Ewok

That was the same episode with The Decemberists.

Awesome. It could only have been better if the Decemberists had sat down with Colbert for an Ewok dinner....

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

For people still keeping track, the results of the CI food cost contest:

The Envelope Please! We spent $347,404 on food.

I guessed $350k, but 2 other people got within $100, so no lifetime sub for me. Oh well!
