A dog should be a woohoo, definitely. Unless, you know, allergies or whatnot.
No, just some nerves.
About any dog? Or this particular dog?
It's a yay from me. I often think I would love to have a dog, but I don't think I can practically break-in a new dog.
My friend just sent me pics of the litter of four-day old border collies that she will be getting a pup from. So mushy and cute.
Nerves in general. We've never had a pet, claiming that we were too lazy for the responsibility. This guy is a dog at the shelter we volunteer at. He came in without any socialization, and he's still scared of new people, but he knows us now, and he's very sweet with people he trusts.
We'd have to keep working with him to make him more confident. But he's house-trained, affectionate, and we're hoping he wouldn't eat the sofa.
Fun, Dana! It seems like volunteering at the shelter would be the best way to prepare for a pet of your own.
I finally made it to Target, where I pulled all (!) of the expired claratin off the shelf and had no trouble exchanging the one I bought. And I remembered to get the can of air I forgot yesterday, which I needed to show ID to buy! What is the world coming to, I ask you?
Dana, he sounds like a sweetie, and you sound like you're well-prepared for what you're taking on. So YAY DOGGIE!!
And I remembered to get the can of air I forgot yesterday, which I needed to show ID to buy!
"I'm sorry, ma'am, but only people over 18 can use air. In fact, can you wait here for a moment? I see some adolescents in aisle 5 who are *clearly* engaged in Unauthorized Breathing."
Dana, he sounds like a sweet dog and like, amych said, it sounds like you are ready for him.
Woo hoo!
Pictures!!! (please)
