So, anybody here had to deal with a bedbug infestation?
Yes. Buy a new mattress.
from what I have read on my neighborhood blog, get rid of what you can, get a spray you feel comfortable with and spray everything, inclusing floors and walls. Plastic bag up everything you throw out and all cloth/cushiony things you spray. Seal up all cranks in floor that you can. Spray again and again. Label anything you throw out as NOT to be re-used so that other do not take it and further spread the infestation. After all that you may still need to hire a professional.
Yeah, I've done some of that. The landlord had had a pest control person come in a few times, but the bugs are still there. I'm hiring some people to do a bunch of cleaning and throwing stuff out, as I just have too much stuff in my small apartment.
It seems my usual solution to stressful situations (procrastinate and hope the problem goes away) seems to have not worked in this situation....
Congratulations Allyson!!
Excellent news, Allyson!
I have two more annual reviews to write today (they are due in June when I won't be here, and today all synonyms for or related to "outstanding" belong to me) and then I think I am done with projects that I must finish before my leave. Yahoo!
Tomorrow is also the last Saturday I'm going to work. Yahoo, again!
Bedbugs are like my nightmare. Although I feel like I read somewhere that they are getting less bad in NYC. I still want to cross the street when I see a thrown-out mattress.
I haven't sat down in a subway station since that story came out about bedbugs living in the wooden benches.
Holy crap, I never heard that. Until now!!!
Whatever you do, don't let them bite you.
