I want to get a new ceiling fan for our living room. The current one is a POS that doesn't move much air. I want a big ass Hunter fan.

Now I'm exhausted because of cat poo!
Thanks for reminding me--I have to get a sample tonight/tomorrow morning before I take her in for her checkup at 2:00.
IcompletelyON, Happy Birthday, mac!!!!
Wow, I'm actually doing a meara!
Dana, where are you heading? Need a bed in central(-ish) Europe? We also have a washing machine....
Hee. Thanks, but I am covered. I'll be in Austria with family for about a week.
I'm not sure how well they hand wash & air dry, however, but I can do an experiment and find out for you.
I definitely love Lands' End stuff. I poked their overstocks section last night and found a pair of pants on sale for $13, so I jumped on those. So please don't wash your pants in the sink for me.
Dana, today's coupon for Sierra Trading Post (there seems to be a new one every day) has 35% of selected items, plus an extra 15% and free shipping if you go over $100. Let me know if you want to try browsing there and if you want me to send you the email link.
Ooh, I will definitely look. Thanks!
Hey, is Sue (or any other Canadian) around? I'm trying to find some general information about federal funding for nonprofits, and it's haaaard! Any ideas?
I think you'll find that federal funding is administered by the various Ministries on a program basis.
There's the Service Canada website, which is supposed to be a one-stop shopping place for Federal Services, but it's geared for the public.
You might try calling their general number and see if anyone there can direct you...
For general information about government programs and services, call our toll-free number: 1 800 O-Canada (1-800-622-6232).
I will look around, I am sure there's a non-profits org somewhere.

Just don't get one with a remote. We've probably installed a dozen ceiling fans in our various houses over the years and the Hunter fans, while awesome, have the shittiest remotes on the planet.
I'll remember that. We've installed a couple of Hunters and they have been fantastic, but no remotes.
My proudest ceiling fan installation was a Hunter. There was no existing ceiling fan or light fixture. I had to run the electrical myself and install the box to hold the fan. I think you could have suspended an elephant form the box I installed, because if it's worth doing, it's worth overdoing.
Jesse, where is your org based in Canada? There seem to be organizational guides for non-profits for the different provinces and territories. This is the one for Ontario, which contains links for funding:
Here's a guide to programs and funding for Women:
Federal Funding Sources for Youth Employment:
I was in a training course with some people from the YWCA doing programs for youth and their funding was coming from Health Canada.

You and Lewis would get along quite well from that standpoint.
Thanks, Sue! Some people are making some noise about us having a national Canadian organization, but I don't think it really makes sense -- especially when I see that most funding is provincial, not federal. BTW, I love 1 800 O-Canada.
How long can you leave out wet cat food?
