I've recently heard many poo-poohing Magnolia's cupcakes (too dry mostly), but the pumpkin one I just had was just delicioso. Now I will savor the rest of my Blast before having the white cake one with pink icinfg for desert.

I'm on break! Early long weekend, because the owner of the music store where we work our second jobs has the store dark this weekend. He's going to NAMM, to look at the pretty pretty new music toys. And our kids have MLKJRDAY off, so yay for long weekend! Today we've declared Seabiscuit day, so we're taking him to the park. Tomorrow D.'s throwing a party, so he's doing prep work for it now. But I am going to be chill, because yay, long weekend.
The point of all that being, I probably have time to bake cupcakes.

Also, whoo, social activism in the digital world. I just emailed Orvis to complain about their sending me a gift card in an envelope in a gift box with ribbon in a separate shipping box. (It was part of a promotional deal where if I bought luggage from them, I got a $100 gift card. I bought a backpack for $109. Heh. But anyway, it didn't come in the box with the backpack. It came on the same day in its own box.) Seriously, for an outdoorsy vendor like Orvis, with its own sustainability plan and everything, it was a tad excessive.
And anyway, I got email back within minutes from the chair of their sustainability committee saying thanks, and he'd bring it up at their next meeting. Go instant gratification!
