Dawn: I think a date should be in a real fancy restaurant, then champagne at a night club with a floor show, then ballroom dancing. Joyce: Unfortunately, we're not dating in a movie from the thirties.

I've got 2 sets of sconces: a twofer and a onefer. The onefers are the rectangle base on the cool textured wall.

Not perfect, getting closer: [link] [link] Ooh [link] Would require paint/plaster repair: [link]

Points wrong way but: [link] [link]

Again, wrong shape for the singles, but I like: [link] [link]

And a deadbolt on the french doors. Totally am calling Easter's again and asking for the same guy. He was really helpful, friendly, saved me money and gave me "protected by" alarm company signs cause he worried even after noting this was a good hood. "Any daughter I had, I'd tell her to use them because this world ain't fair and every bit of deterrent does work, even if you don't pay for it." Dayum. I appreciate the nod.

Congratulations, sara! So much fun and craziness to come!

Also, interrupting the restoration talk for Folsom Carseat Blues. Also.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Bad lemon bars are pretty damned good, unless they're salty. I'm sure yours are fine, lisa.

Sara has a house! Sara has a house!

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Am I the only curmudgeon who thinks that Susan Boyle is not that good?

HE'S SO BIG!!!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Here's my thing about Susan Boyle: There are a million of her in church choirs all over the place. You only get to be famous when you're a good singer AND good-looking and/or charismatic AND lucky.

But really, the song choice is 90% of that performance.

“Not dead yet!”

bon, I think she's got a fairly amazing natural talent that's only had minimal training. But the bones are there, especially to be the kind of singer she wants to be.

But no, you're certainly not the only one-- I think as her popularity has increased and people know going into watching the clip that they're supposed to be hearing something extraordinary, they're perhaps predisposed to be more critical and hear the flaws.

I just like the overall effect of the moment though-- I'm a big sap that way.

Also: Hi Noah! Hi!! (I got distracted by all of my Susan Boyle feelings that have been bubbling up...)

Yeah, I think these days the good singer part is optional when it comes to becoming a famous singer. (Example: Britney "Six Cats in a Blender" Spears)
