Looks like this weekend is a lot of reading. And I'm going to do a review (heh, my first like, since grad school) of a book, the Smart Bitches Beyond Heaving Bosoms: The Smart Bitches' Guide to Romance Novels.
Lord, but it's funny as hell.

Huh. Our Lexis rep brought us nada. Our Westlaw rep brought us cookies, at least, so we were not sugar deprived this week.
The Westlaw business rep brought fancy chocolate, gimme cups, and itunes cards, the Westlaw rep brought cookies and Peet's cards, and the Lexis rep brought cupcakes, umbrellas, mini-flashlights, and weird little containers of M&Ms.
Throw in our Donut day, and I have been very popular this week.
I'm getting ready to join my team for the huge local annual trivia contest. 54 hours straight.
I'm really craving Thai food tonight, so I think I'll place an order before I leave here at my local Thai place, I Am Siam. They've got quite good pad thai and really excellent spring rolls with plum sauce.

Weekend:
Tonight, write letters to people I'm sending GCS ARCS to.
Tomorrow: Tickybox birthday party!
Sunday: Oh god, a road trip to Forks, because a friend has a baby cousin in town who is a Twilight fan.
We're going to try kite flying tomorrow. Hubby bought a big multi-level kite a couple of years ago, and we've never been able to take it out.
Sounds like fun, I hope you get good winds.
Kat, I think it's totally appropriate to have the school paper write about the cheating valedictorian, otherwise the take home message is consequences are only there for some students. But it occurs to me that the teacher who called you a vigilante might have felt exposed too.
Unrelatedly, my weekend is going to consist of much grading, plus some stretch class. And a princess party. Who could forget about that?
My daughter's teacher was really impressed by one of my daughter's poems. She's actually written several poems and I think a number of them are really good.
This one was about our beagle Fenris.
Time to play.
Chase Thor. Fight Thor.
Play with toy. Chase toy.
Chew on toy.
Rest.
Ask for a belly rub.
Relax.
Outside? Let's go!
Bark. Howl. Run.
What fun!
Sunbathe.
Food! Eat.Eat.
Sniff.
Inside! Get feet wiped.
Polish off plates when no one looks.
Belly rub, please?
