Go sara! Go sara! Go sara! SO EXCITED FOR YOU!
I got called a vigilante teacher. Context: kid who is valedictorian plagiarized and cheated -- on a project and a final respectively in my class, but because of how they figure out cumulative GPA for valedictorians, the D he got this quarter doen't disqualify him. I've been on a tear since then and K pointed out while I can't make him NOT valedictorian, I am in charge of the newspaper.
So my students are writing a giant article after a survey I gave out yielded results.
One of my journalism kids reportedly told another teacher, "You don't mess with Ms. G. I like her. She's cool and everything, but don't mess with her."
Then the teacher said I got ruffled about perceived injustices and I'm a vigilante. She meant it in a non-bad way, I think. But still?
Sigh.
Though it might not be wrong.
Good Luck!
Kat, vigilante teacher.
There should be a comic book.
Hey, go for it. Kids need to know there are consequences to their actions and one of those might be how people and the press look at you. Tough cookies if that's not the rosy image you hope to project. Shouldn't have plagiarized, then.
WOOHOO SARA!!!
Ah the hipster grifter. So funny in a way but sad. Girl clearly needs some serious mental health professionals on her case.
Happy Birthday to Sheryl!
Go Sara!
that's not perceived injustice, Kat. That IS injustice. Cheaters should be held accountable.
Weekend plans?
I'm with Kat. Actions have consequences, boys and girls.
