Don't you just love this party? Everything's so fancy, and there's some kind of hot cheese over there.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

when one has hired pros for a business move do the movers get tipped?

The proper business etiquette requires you to say to the head mover, "Who would get the Tip of Death must answer me these questions three..." and then ask him three questions.

No really, that's what you're supposed to do.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Today my daughter's class can wear their PJs an bring a pillow and blanket to class where they are going to have a long block of reading time, a read-in if you will. It's to celebrate the end of their state testing. Naturally, she's bringing an Artemis Fowl book.

I want to do this today. Although given my allergy-medication-induced spacey-ness, I should probably bring Goodnight Moon or maybe The Little Golden Book of Medically Induced Hallucinations.

Librarian Warlord

found out that the entire company in NY state shut down in January, most likely due to the economy. Damn. Now I have to be doubly sure to not break anything!

KathyA, do you know about Replacements? [link] Keep watch there if you need to fill-in (you can also set it up so they'll email you when they get new pieces of your pattern).

The Little Golden Book of Medically Induced Hallucinations.

Heh. Wonkette has a similar running gag, except they'd call that book A Children's Treasury of Medically Induced Hallucinations.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'm pretty sure you always tip movers, Aims.

Yay mac and knittingness!

And nope, not too late, but my trunk and back seat are full! After bank (OMGWTFCHECK) I dumped stuff off at Goodwill, called my broker and agent to let them know I had the check from the Target parking lot, went in and bought a 3 step stepladder, rolling clothes rack, catlitter for both places (need it here NOW,) a broom an flipflops (I needed a pair) and then hit Petco for a new litterbox and miracle crap (thought about moving one of those here, imagined the logistics, quailed.) Stopped at Panera for a spinach and bacon soufflé and now I'm home, about to leave again.

!!!!!

hip deep in pie

I am not sure about the movers. I work for Gov't and we don't tip anyone, but our movers are on a standing offer.

I've got to remember to mail my cc bill.

Work Lisa offered to go with me, but honestly, it wouldn't matter if there were a million friends and parents in the room, I'm not going to be aware of them.

Now for all the phone calls and logistics.....
