Now I did a job. I got nothing but trouble since I did it, not to mention more than a few unkind words as regard to my character so let me make this abundantly clear. I do the job. And then I get paid.

So here's the thing: I'm not moving anything of mine in today. And that feels weird (I am a completist.) So now I'm thinking of opening one of the boxes and extracting one of my pink hippos to leave to make it mine.

But which box?!!!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

It was definitely a weird feeling, to suddenly own an empty house! I found myself worrying that it would burn down or be broken into before I got to move in, so I went over and put a lamp on the first floor and up in the bedroom, turned on so that the house looked more occupied.

The main thing was, nothing bad happened. And havign a couple days of empty house gave me a chance to sweep, mop, vacuum (as appropriate) the empty rooms. The previous owners had been Very Clean, but the movers had tracked in dirt and when they moved stuff there was dust bunnies falling off.

My place may be a Dust Bunny Farm these days, but at least it started off clean!

I figure it's been empty for over a year... I just want to have something there that says it is mine.

Ah shit, the shaking has started. I was hoping for zen-like catatonic calm. OK, time to hit up the bank, then Goodwill, then possibly Panera and then closing. Think of me at the noon hour eastern.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Best of luck to you, sarameg!!!

Happiest of birthdays to you, Sheryl!!!

I didn't go to bed until after 2 am, and then woke up just before my alarm went off at 6. Gronk. At least I'm here early enough (even though I don't have to do the morning load today--the regular loader is back at work this morning) that I can leave by 4.

I might even stop by the grocery store on the way home.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Birthday Happies, Sheryl!

Please to help: What's with the hipster grifter?

She reminds me of my high school girlfriend. Who wasn't a grifter, but who would make up all these bizarre stories and be very convincing to everyone about them. She did tell me and one or two other people that she had cancer - it was this whole strange story that her parents didn't know and her cancer Dr. was writing it off as research so he wasn't billing her.

She traded honor for success!

At first I thought the guy she was seducing was Mr. Rogers, but I guess not.

Pac-Man Runs Amok

Video. Some people dress up as characters from Pac-Man and run around in stores, pool halls, etc.

It amused me more than I thought it would.
