Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

sara, being stressed out at this point is completely understandable.

One piece of advice - have a box with all the things you'll need for the first day or two: sheets, towels, soap, toilet paper, a light bulb or two, possibly paper plates/plastic flatware. Brightly colored tape or some kind of markings are helpful to make sure you can spot it when you're at the new place.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Sadly, I was hearing last night that the bill probably won't pass, and Paterson is basically trying to do whatever he can to make anyone like him at this point...

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Sadly, I was hearing last night that the bill probably won't pass, and Paterson is basically trying to do whatever he can to make anyone like him at this point...

Yeah, that doesn't surprise me.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

At the airport, will depart soon enough. As happy as I will be to get home I am a little wary of the cluttered mess of a house that awaits me.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Dude. Last night at 12:30AM our house alarm (Brinks) went off. Cue the scattering of cats and people! It was pretty terrifying. We had to check all of the windows and doors, which was scary as hell. We found nothing, thank God. Then as we were sitting on the couch trying to calm down, the alarm chimed like it does when a door or window opens or closes. Cue the freaking out and window/door checking once again! Still nothing. We ended up getting back in bed around 2:30AM and then kind of half-slept until the (clock) alarm went off at 6:30AM. Argh. Brinks is coming out to check the alarm tomorrow. That's a sound you just never want to hear.

Yikes, GC!

As happy as I will be to get home I am a little wary of the cluttered mess of a house that awaits me.

I am just happy to see someone using "wary" when they should. Has anyone else noticed that the world seems to have conflated "wary" and "leery" and is using "weary" when they mean wary and/or leery??

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Jesse, Gud is clearly trying to gaslight you (bad Gud! bad!). It's so very much not just you.

THANK YOU, JZ. I figured it wasn't just me. What has happened to the English language?? I grow weary.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Has anyone else noticed that the world seems to have conflated "wary" and "leery" and is using "weary" when they mean wary and/or leery?

I was reading a fic the other day where that happened in the first paragraph.

I stopped reading.
