Because of lackof a pre-nup, the STBX-Mrs. Gibson could get half a billion.
I don't think when she married him thirty years and seven kids ago he was the sort of fella who had "pre-nup" high on his list of things you'd need.

Found out today that my department is losing 1/3 of its teachers.
Aw, jeez. Are you at risk?
Not that I know of. And I'm the third most senior teacher in the department.
Ah, jeez, Kat! How do they expect to be able to run a school with 1/3rd fewer teachers, damnit!
Ah, Prop 13, which caused my wounded husband to be fired in his hospital bed when he worked for the Ventura Country Fire Department
This reminded me of the story I heard on the radio this morning of a Madison, WI, nurse who was pulled out of the surgery she was assisting in to be told she was being laid off and she was immediately escorted to get her stuff and leave. The doctor said afterwards that he was able to conduct the rest of the operation to his satisfaction, but, still!!
Yikes, Kat!
And hi, Ellen S.!!
Also, yay, hockey playoff season!

Well it's only 7 teachers at the school total. We had class-size reduction in 9th grade in Math and English, so those departments are being impacted. Instead of 20 kids in each class, it will be 34.
We could do with 1/3rd fewer teachers if we had 1/3rd fewer kids.
Also, yay, hockey playoff season!
Ugh. Now until June our house becomes all Hockey all the time. Or rather, Hockey or Deadliest Catch.
Is there some point and/or logic to this that I'm just not seeing?

"But when no can tell us where this amount of money is going, no one can sketch it out for us, just seems like an injustice," he said.
"All I hear about [from the Obama administration] is how [it values] 'transparency, transparency,' but I don't see that. ... That's a joke," he said. "I did my taxes this year, and I noticed that I'm paying as much in taxes as I did the first year I got out of college."
"I don't have a deep political leaning," he said. "Now, what is a normal citizen supposed to do?

If he's paying the same amount in taxes as he did 20ish years ago what is he complaining about?
