May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Not that I know of. And I'm the third most senior teacher in the department.

Ah, jeez, Kat! How do they expect to be able to run a school with 1/3rd fewer teachers, damnit!

Ah, Prop 13, which caused my wounded husband to be fired in his hospital bed when he worked for the Ventura Country Fire Department

This reminded me of the story I heard on the radio this morning of a Madison, WI, nurse who was pulled out of the surgery she was assisting in to be told she was being laid off and she was immediately escorted to get her stuff and leave. The doctor said afterwards that he was able to conduct the rest of the operation to his satisfaction, but, still!!

Well it's only 7 teachers at the school total. We had class-size reduction in 9th grade in Math and English, so those departments are being impacted. Instead of 20 kids in each class, it will be 34.

We could do with 1/3rd fewer teachers if we had 1/3rd fewer kids.

Ugh. Now until June our house becomes all Hockey all the time. Or rather, Hockey or Deadliest Catch.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Is there some point and/or logic to this that I'm just not seeing?

McQueen, a 44-year-old litigation consultant and CNN iReporter, said he had no problem with paying taxes.

"But when no can tell us where this amount of money is going, no one can sketch it out for us, just seems like an injustice," he said.

"All I hear about [from the Obama administration] is how [it values] 'transparency, transparency,' but I don't see that. ... That's a joke," he said. "I did my taxes this year, and I noticed that I'm paying as much in taxes as I did the first year I got out of college."

"I don't have a deep political leaning," he said. "Now, what is a normal citizen supposed to do?

If he's paying the same amount in taxes as he did 20ish years ago what is he complaining about?

You have to remember that being a 5-time Olympic medalist means Hilary Knight has been playing hockey at an elite level at least 16 years. It's impossible for her to be a teenage girl less than 16 years old, thus the President's complete lack of interest.

Because of lackof a pre-nup, the STBX-Mrs. Gibson could get half a billion.

Please tell me there's a gay Jewish Divorce Court judge in the district where they're filing...

Hate school funding cuts when it isn't proportional to the student body. I'd been watching CA with trepidation because I expected it was coming.

Hey lisah! Where's the nearest goodwill donation location in the area?

I've resorted to scotch. I just can't cope with being this tense and shaky and queasy for all of the next 39+ hours. At which point a new kind of shaky and tense will take over. I've still to hurdle withdrawing all that money I've been saving for years.
