I've been out of the abbey two days, I've beaten a lawman senseless, I've fallen in with criminals. I watched the captain shoot the man I swore to protect. And I'm not even sure if I think he was wrong.

I fucking hate my employer. Right now their goddamned website is standing between me and a mortgage. SERIOUSLY.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Punishingly Intricate

So, after all of that morning-routine talk, I went to bed earlish, but still slept through my alarm until 7:20! Am now late for work.

I forgot one part of my "routine" which is usually having to get up sometime in the night (about 5 this morning) to take the dog out and then going back to sleep. He'd actually been sleeping through the night pretty well recently but I THOUGHT about that good luck too much I guess and jinxed it. Anyway, I fell asleep again, only hit the snooze alarm once and was actually here a 1/2 hour early today. A miracle. Of course nobody else was here for another hour so my miracle went unwitnessed.

bt, sorry for the layoff but it sounds like it actually might be a a positive thing for you. More time with baby! Awesome.

You have to remember that being a 5-time Olympic medalist means Hilary Knight has been playing hockey at an elite level at least 16 years. It's impossible for her to be a teenage girl less than 16 years old, thus the President's complete lack of interest.

Grrr. Apparently my DVD recorder decided that no, I really didn't need to see Due East yesterday after all. Weird that it wasn't due to a power surge knocking out the date/time or anything like that - there was just a little exlamation point telling me the program hadn't recorded.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

For as many complaints as I have about Comcast, I'll have to say that I've had relatively few problems with my dvr.

I just took a break from my work and filed my state taxes, since I couldn't get into the system to file last night. It really sucks to own money--I'm thinking about upping my withholding by about $20 per paycheck to make up most of it.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I did make up some time on my commute this morning, so while I left the house about 10 minutes late, I was only 5 minutes late getting here, so not too bad. This is the first job I've ever had where anyone cared about 9:00 -- generally I've gotten to work at like 10 past and been one of the first people in.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

and finally found my Dad's old basketball programs from the 40s--one when he's playing the US Coast Guard Surf Riders at Kezar Pavillion!

Way cool! For those keeping score at home, Kezar Pavilion is the local sports complex that's practically across the street from me. It's where I've taken Emmett to see Roller Derby.
