I did make up some time on my commute this morning, so while I left the house about 10 minutes late, I was only 5 minutes late getting here, so not too bad. This is the first job I've ever had where anyone cared about 9:00 -- generally I've gotten to work at like 10 past and been one of the first people in.

and finally found my Dad's old basketball programs from the 40s--one when he's playing the US Coast Guard Surf Riders at Kezar Pavillion!
Way cool! For those keeping score at home, Kezar Pavilion is the local sports complex that's practically across the street from me. It's where I've taken Emmett to see Roller Derby.
I also get up at some point and feed the cats, but I usually just go back to sleep.
I missed the last of three buses that gets me to work relatively on time, so I had to walk a whole two blocks in the other direction to get another bus that got me to work 20 minutes late. Okay, I would have been ten minutes late had I not stopped for coffee, but I'm no good without caffeine. It's worth the extra 10 minutes.
Gotta go get ready for my interview. For some reason, my stomach will not calm the fuck down. Okay everyone, at 10:30, universal "do not throw up on HR" thoughts will be appreciated.
Good luck Allyson!
It really sucks to own money--I'm thinking about upping my withholding by about $20 per paycheck to make up most of it.
I do the same thing--I think right now I'm putting an extra $60 per paycheck into state withholding, because the last time I didn't I ended up owing the state something like $400.
No throwing up, Allyson! And tons and tons of luck and ~ma. Not that you need it; you're brilliant, experienced, probably overqualified, and they already all know you and are fond of you (and if they aren't completely heartless, they're as appalled as the rest of us at the way your other might've-been employer dicked you over).
Sorry about the layoff, bt. But happy you will have more time with wife and baby!
Hire~ma to you, Allyson!
Glam, did you have a good time last night? Nathan was way wicked charming, I thought. Joss thoughtful and funny and I am SO in love with Felicia Day.
I looked for you--we were in the very back in the center.
You'll be fine, Allyson. All best luck, though you won't need it.
Billytea, what exciting news about the baby! I'm glad Wallybee's folks are going to be able to be there. I've no doubt you'll find a more better job, after a nice break for paternity leave.
Good luck, Allyson!
And bt, I am sorry to hear you've been laid off, but I'm glad you are looking on the bright side. And yeah, getting to spend more time with your newborn little baby is AWESOME!
DH took the kids to school and drove to work, leaving me at home alone to get work done. It's such a surreal feeling. But I think I need to get showered and get started.
