Saffron: But we've been wed. Aren't we to become one flesh? Mal: Well, no, uh... We're still two fleshes here, and I think that your flesh ought to sleep somewhere else.

Loki and Devi are sleeping on the futon again. Not touching this time, but Dev knew he was there. Oh lord, she's washing her butt and he just reached out a paw and dragged it down her back, on purpose! And she ignored it totally and is dozing off again. He'd so be her best buddy if she weren't so mean. Story of her life. MK was the same with her.

The stalkery attacks have changed flavor a bit. Less actual contact. I do wonder if Loki's increased size is a factor. I can't just pick him up easily with one hand; he's too heavy and long for it to be managable.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

It'd be so great if everyone's cats got along.

Mine was happy to see my next-door neighbor stop by to use the phone--for some reason, she didn't pull her usual standoffish behavior with new people, and spent the entire time rubbing all over her and meowing while being petted. She usually only does that for me!

And in Chicago is damn cold news, a pretty sunrise over a cold city.

Work is broadcasting it in our auditorium. But I really want to be with crowds of craxy excited people. I love an emotionally invested crowd.

Obama will be in B'more Sat afternoon, as a part of the train trip to DC with Biden, I guess. But it's at the same time as the first birthday of the kid I saw born. So..... Gotta go celebrate probably the only child I'll ever literally see come into the world.

God, that was a year ago?!!

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

It'd be so great if everyone's cats got along.

JEBUS God yeah. I inadvertently tried to pick up Taz when he was in attack mode and he sunk his claws and teeth into me- something he's *never* done before. This kitty intro thing is very stresful.

sarameg - Jan 15, 2009 4:18:09 pm PST #1507 of 30000

Oh Nora, you have my sympathies. I think you'll have faster happy results with your boys than I will with Devi and the boys; she's just Very set in her ways. I learned my lesson when Mister Kitty was introduced and she pretty much mauled me in freakout mode, so I haven't had it happen this time. (Also, this time she is much more another fucking CAT? Are you kidding me, bitch? Fine, I'll go beat him up rather than WTFOMGKILLKILLJKILLHEUWIUEHF@!)

Lokes annoys MK more than anything. There's little hostility there, just GO AWAY.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Random question: If I were making a random vegetable soup, and want to make it more substantial, what should I add? I have a can of kidney beans and some of that Trader Joe's cous cous mix in the house. Would either of those work, or should I actually go buy some white beans and/or macaroni? Also, can I throw the frozen spinach into the soup?

sarameg - Jan 15, 2009 4:21:03 pm PST #1509 of 30000

I'd add the beans. Mom always put kidney beans in minestrone. Spinach is always good.

Oh dear lord, Loki is certifiable. He's WASHING a sleeping Devi. The hell?

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

There's a whole thing in airport planning called BASH -- Bird Aircraft Strike Hazard. Planes + Birds = Bad News.

Some airports hire falconers to hunt the birds, and they try not to have wetlands or fields nearby because that kind of habitat lures birds in. It's a real problem.

I'm shocked and astonished and very very happy that everyone survived. Good news!

I'm definitely going to be more aware on my takeoffs and landings for the next few weeks. Maybe get an aisle seat again for a while...eye my fellow passengers suspiciously, if they're in the exit row. Do I REALLY think they can perform those duties adequately, or are they just saying that for the extra leg room?? HMMMM???
