Oh Nora, you have my sympathies. I think you'll have faster happy results with your boys than I will with Devi and the boys; she's just Very set in her ways. I learned my lesson when Mister Kitty was introduced and she pretty much mauled me in freakout mode, so I haven't had it happen this time. (Also, this time she is much more another fucking CAT? Are you kidding me, bitch? Fine, I'll go beat him up rather than WTFOMGKILLKILLJKILLHEUWIUEHF@!)

Lokes annoys MK more than anything. There's little hostility there, just GO AWAY.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Random question: If I were making a random vegetable soup, and want to make it more substantial, what should I add? I have a can of kidney beans and some of that Trader Joe's cous cous mix in the house. Would either of those work, or should I actually go buy some white beans and/or macaroni? Also, can I throw the frozen spinach into the soup?

I'd add the beans. Mom always put kidney beans in minestrone. Spinach is always good.

Oh dear lord, Loki is certifiable. He's WASHING a sleeping Devi. The hell?

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

There's a whole thing in airport planning called BASH -- Bird Aircraft Strike Hazard. Planes + Birds = Bad News.

Some airports hire falconers to hunt the birds, and they try not to have wetlands or fields nearby because that kind of habitat lures birds in. It's a real problem.

I'm shocked and astonished and very very happy that everyone survived. Good news!

I'm definitely going to be more aware on my takeoffs and landings for the next few weeks. Maybe get an aisle seat again for a while...eye my fellow passengers suspiciously, if they're in the exit row. Do I REALLY think they can perform those duties adequately, or are they just saying that for the extra leg room?? HMMMM???

My uncle was a commercial pilot (United), and he had to do an emergency landing after a bird flew into one of his plane's engines. Not nearly as dramatic, because he still had one (at least?) engine and a runway to land on. Still. Birds and planes are unmixy thing. Hey, and he got an award for safely landing the plane.

Amazing and miraculous story. Good on you, Sully. You saved 150 people today.

Cool, thanks.

Oh, and it's Canada geese, not Canadian geese, huh? I never knew that. This is the that thing I learned today. Not as good as spodee, but I'll take it.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

I seriously can't get over how fucking awesome that Hudson landing is. Just, wow.

Cat-indifferents can furrow their brow, but I swear, watching Loki puzzle over my manicure removing dish and roll around randomly on his back and bemused by his feet so removes the shit of today, the cranky god-boss, the cramps, the unprepared, the shitloads I didn't get done, knowing the shit coming down the pike over the next 6 months, it helps and sorta makes it all background.

So does MK sitting on my side, Devi asleep with her head on my ankle and just their general adorable cuddliness.

Sometimes, it is the little things.
