I am off work today. As soon as we clean the house, we are off to a weekend of snazziness, set up for about 20 auto journalists and spouses by Audi. We drive up there in a brand new Audi (which is, of course, the point). We are all staying at the Four Seasons in Santa Barbara for two nights! [link] Also free fancy dinners both nights, and Saturday night's is on a boat. The DH and I have not been somewhere which wasn't family-related in a long time, so we are both definitely giddy.
Oh, and when they dropped of the car, they gave us each a free Suitcase of Awesomeness [link] VERY cool. This one carry on costs more than all of our other luggage we have ever owned combined.
I am in love with that luggage. so very cool.
scrappy, that luggage is awesome! I especially like the part where it says "Roll Your Own." Heh.
Are both of yours black, or did you get a pink one?
Also, hooray for swanky auto review weekends!
Scrappy wins the weekend!
I will be working (boo) and catching up on chores (boo #2) but will get to see Sox and DH o' Sox and Offspring o' Sox!
Holy awesomeness, Scrappy! That's some cool shit. Have a great time!
Happy Birthday, Tom!
And I'm glad your mother's doing all right, Theodosia.
Among other things I need to get my apartment mucked out for some family who are coming through next week. There's the usual fridge cleaning and bathroom scrubbing that someone living alone can put off for a surprising amount of time (sure it's filthy, but it's my filth). Then there is oh, so much stuff I've put off dealing with, basically threading my way through the piles of crap, and this weekend will be my punishment for that.
On the upside, I might rediscover where half my "to read" pile of books disappeared to. I won't have time to ready any of them, but it would be nice to learn where they are.
We both got black ones. Thank heavens, since I am not a pink sort of a person.
The baked beans are in the slow cooker (with the bacon, brown sugar, onion, molasses and vegetable broth). The spare ribs have been dry rubbed and are in the fridge ready to grill tonight.
Tomorrow, we leave for Chicago for a hotel and a water park to meet up with my sister and her family.
as much as I love my pink luggage, it gets very dirty - not so practical. (it is like the two sides of me battling it out: pink vs. practical - practical has usually been the winner and the navy luggage gets used double as much as the pink.)
