Happy Birthday, Tom!
And I'm glad your mother's doing all right, Theodosia.
Among other things I need to get my apartment mucked out for some family who are coming through next week. There's the usual fridge cleaning and bathroom scrubbing that someone living alone can put off for a surprising amount of time (sure it's filthy, but it's my filth). Then there is oh, so much stuff I've put off dealing with, basically threading my way through the piles of crap, and this weekend will be my punishment for that.
On the upside, I might rediscover where half my "to read" pile of books disappeared to. I won't have time to ready any of them, but it would be nice to learn where they are.
We both got black ones. Thank heavens, since I am not a pink sort of a person.
The baked beans are in the slow cooker (with the bacon, brown sugar, onion, molasses and vegetable broth). The spare ribs have been dry rubbed and are in the fridge ready to grill tonight.
Tomorrow, we leave for Chicago for a hotel and a water park to meet up with my sister and her family.
as much as I love my pink luggage, it gets very dirty - not so practical. (it is like the two sides of me battling it out: pink vs. practical - practical has usually been the winner and the navy luggage gets used double as much as the pink.)
I totally want one of those bags! Seriously lusting for it.
That sounds like an excellent weekend, with FAB luggage, Scrappy! Good times.
Now it's thunder and lightning here, and I have to go back out! Boo.
thunder. shakey building thunder. 3 avenues of visibility.
Also, there was apparently a hostage situation in Binghamton, NY, this morning, with people getting shot. Yikes.
Edit: at an immigration service center. Apparently they've arrested two men.
yikes is right. that's just whoa.
Whoa, apparently is my generic term for most things that are not actually filled with woe.
I was told by a student that I was required to be at the pep rally as there is a surprise for me. MEEP. I hate surprises in public.
