Which, when I think about it too hard, is just depressing. Are my great-great grandkids going to be stuck fighting these SAME. FREAKING. BATTLES???

Yes. But it'll probably be about something new and different. Like, people who have internet implanted in their heads vs. people who don't for religious reasons. Or whatever.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Yes. But it'll probably be about something new and different. Like, people who have internet implanted in their heads vs. people who don't for religious reasons. Or whatever.

The freaky non-implant people have it coming.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Oh, my god, Charter is Satan. SATAN, I tell you.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

some remorseful Attempts to Do Better

Which puts him ahead of some other RF authors, at least up until where I stopped reading.

Though, honestly? Sometimes I feel what's been culturally appropriated from me most is my outrage.

Hey ita, have you seen the NY Times article about goat meat? [link]

It's pretty funny.

Their unappetizing visage is simultaneously dopey and satanic, like a Disney character with a terrible secret.

Later:

“Is it gay meat?” Confused, I said, “There’s nothing gay about it at all.” She explained, “No, I said is it gamey?”

I think goats are cute. Not satanic! A college friend had house goat. No, really. They started out with a handful her parents used to keep the grounds in good shape, and then one had a kid the mommagoat rejected and her dad brought it inside so it wouldn't die and then couldn't get it OUT of the house (I think he was a big old softie.) Goats have a rep for being destructive, but I think this one thought it was just another cat or dog. If not a person.

I wish I'd ever learnt to cook my own goat meat. I haven't had any since I was in Jamaica over Christmas. I miss it. Hell, I miss eating out anything other than pizza or fries. Maybe I'll be fiscally irresponsible today and order in Chinese. It's no goat, but at least I didn't cook it.

I think goats are darned cute too. But I've never tasted them.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I have to admit I find goat tasty. But unlike ita, I don't miss it when it's not there.

I don't really find them cute looking, but I was utterly charmed by the 4H goats near my old apt. They'd look at you plaintively and say "HEY!"
