According to Illinois congressman Shimkis, not only is global warming not a problem, as evidence by the Bible, but we are not putting enough carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.

HARD TO ARGUE WITH LOGIC LIKE THAT....

He's a coal guy so there is a practical political reason for his crazy arguments. Probably more amusing that alarming, there's always a few in any given state congress.

Edit: Wow Jesse's post makes a perfect unintentional segue.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

dude. my house. with the issues and the not handling them so well. it kinda sounds crazy. I mean, it is kinda crazy, just not all that abnormal for this particular situation, but most people don't know that.

hwæt

Rep. John Shimkus (R-Ill.) argued, publicly and with a straight face, that if we limit carbon emissions, we're "taking away plant food from the atmosphere."

Maybe he is from an alien plant species.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Obviously groom was #1, but it's not like I was worried he'd pull a bait and switch or something. #2 was my parents, esp my mom.

But yeah, the dress was important to me. The dress, the hair, the make up, all of it meant something to me. I've never been to the prom, never been to an event where I needed to wear a ball gown, and apart from my wedding, I probably never will. It was the one time in my life when I got to be glamorously beautiful.

Speaking of my wedding dress, I have a picture I need to upload of Frances trying my dress on. She wanted to see it so we took it out of the box, and then... well.... But it's a sweet picture. I'll try to find it and post it.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I'm kind of amazed people have weddings. I mean, the same way I'm amazed that people ride roller coasters or go sky-diving. I understand that people who do it probably enjoy the experience, but it looks like torture.

Heh. I've had two weddings (both great), have gone skydiving (thrilling) and love roller coasters. I may be composed of Strega anti-matter.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Although unlikely to have a wedding day, I need to ask if this is true....I know Buffista brides are probably not the norm, but am I really supposed to believe that?

Generally speaking, the priorities of the relatives and friends whose weddings I've attended have been (1) standing up with the groom to begin the marriage (2) in front of family and friends (3) at a church or other location that's meaningful to one or both of the couple. Purchased trappings came much lower on the list.

I've never been to a wedding where the attendents clothes were paid for by the couple/couple's family.

My best friend intended to pay for my tux rental and my fellow groomsman's as well as his own. But I knew money was a bit tight, so my wedding gift was picking up the tab instead of buying them an appliance. (Also, I kept the bride's little brother from being eaten by the groom's German Shepherd/Dire Wolf halfbreed, though in retrospect they might have preferred an appliance instead...)

No such thing as too much crazy! OK, maybe there is, but still.

Oh, Jesse. You have clearly not been on enough bad dates recently. Or been a lesbian.
