"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

My major goal was that my dad would not be too embarrassing. My mom made the dress [link]

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That's lovely, Ginger. I was just saying yesterday that I hope by the time I get married (if/when), dresses with sleeves are back in style.

Date 2, lunch is complete. Went well. I think I let a bit too much of my crazy out of the bag in conversation - too much caffeine. We'll see.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

No such thing as too much crazy! OK, maybe there is, but still.

According to Illinois congressman Shimkis, not only is global warming not a problem, as evidence by the Bible, but we are not putting enough carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.

HARD TO ARGUE WITH LOGIC LIKE THAT....

He's a coal guy so there is a practical political reason for his crazy arguments. Probably more amusing that alarming, there's always a few in any given state congress.

Edit: Wow Jesse's post makes a perfect unintentional segue.

dude. my house. with the issues and the not handling them so well. it kinda sounds crazy. I mean, it is kinda crazy, just not all that abnormal for this particular situation, but most people don't know that.

Rep. John Shimkus (R-Ill.) argued, publicly and with a straight face, that if we limit carbon emissions, we're "taking away plant food from the atmosphere."

Maybe he is from an alien plant species.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Obviously groom was #1, but it's not like I was worried he'd pull a bait and switch or something. #2 was my parents, esp my mom.

But yeah, the dress was important to me. The dress, the hair, the make up, all of it meant something to me. I've never been to the prom, never been to an event where I needed to wear a ball gown, and apart from my wedding, I probably never will. It was the one time in my life when I got to be glamorously beautiful.

Speaking of my wedding dress, I have a picture I need to upload of Frances trying my dress on. She wanted to see it so we took it out of the box, and then... well.... But it's a sweet picture. I'll try to find it and post it.
