I hope you don't think that I just come over for the spells and everything. I mean, I really like just talking and hanging out with you and stuff.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Satyana Denisof has a ring to it.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

The weather you can't really control so there's little point in worrying.

Still, I cared more about having nice weather for my outdoor wedding than having a nice dress.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

I cared about whether my family would traumatize his family.

Oh god, yes - seating charts. Much more stressful than picking out a dress.

Coding and Sleeping

Well, you should make your link more descriptive, Gud, I didn't realize what you were linking to!

Fair point.

I'm kind of amazed people have weddings. I mean, the same way I'm amazed that people ride roller coasters or go sky-diving. I understand that people who do it probably enjoy the experience, but it looks like torture.

I would have a wedding. If I had someone to marry. And it were legal. Though the whole "OMG my family is insane" might tempt me to avoid some of that BS. Though given that whole lack of "someone to marry" and "legal" ...the family may not be a problem by the time/if ever those issues are solved.

Ann, that's a ferret.

I attended a wedding in the middle of a tropical storm. I don't know why the bride and groom chose Labor Day weekend, though I'd guess part of the reason was that a holiday weekend was easier for out-of-town guests. Luckily, indoor facilities had been arranged just in case.

While I'm not crazy about the name Satyana, there's something Slavic about Satyana Denisov.

Punishingly Intricate

I think Satyana is a pretty name. Here it talks about the origin (I figured it was Sanskrit):

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

We were just telling our wedding story at the SO's birthday party Sunday. It definitely had OMG his family is insane moments in it.
