Gunn: The final score can't be rigged. I don't care how many players you grease, that last shot always comes up a question mark. But here's the thing. You never know when you're taking it. It could be when you're duking it out with the Legion of Doom, or just crossing the street deciding where to have brunch. So you just treat it like it was up to you—the world in balance—'cause you never know when it is.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

On the other hand, there's a very good chance that the worst thing to happen to you today has already happened.

One would hope...

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Having grown up on a dairy farm, I think my tolerance for "Shit! Shit in new places!" is actually pretty high....

IONonShitRelatedN, I have a huge crush on Xeni (at Boing Boing): Xeni with "Yuri Gagarin" tattoo, "Yuri's Night" in Houston

Boing Boing post: Yuri's Night "global space parties" happen from April 4-12.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Oof, between this cold and my baseball schedule (8 hours on the fields on Saturday, 6 hours Sunday, 3 hours Monday) I feel like hammered shit.

I woke up and my mouth tasted like the snot fairies had used it for a latrine all night, and the crust bunnies marked their territory along my eyelids and I somehow managed to swallow a small hockey puck which is lodged sideways in my throat.

On top of all that my sister called me the other day and said: (a) our dad is in failing health and probably going to die; and (b) my niece (her daughter) had diabetic ketoacidosis which had damaged her heart and caused a heart attack. (My niece is 28.)

As it turns out my sister had talked to my dad while he was doing poorly in the hospital but the reason he sounded so bad was because he had his teeth out. Not dying. My niece does, however, need a stent.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Ok, y'all. I'm sitting here, reading these shit stories and my cube mate just farted. No excuse me. No acknowledgement that he just let one loose. Just...toooot.

Can I go home now?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

One of the last times I was at the ER there was a 9 week old baby that farted like a Marine. Her little body would curl and spasm and she'd just let one rip. No tooting for her. And she was a screamer.

Made it just about until 7. Not counting the tossing and turning and stupid dreams.

Hec, I'm sorry to hear about that double-whammy. I hope it is all peaceful.

Hec, sorry you are feeling so bad and about the news about your niece.

ita, I hope you are able to start getting sleep soon. The headaches and lack of sleep sound like an awful combination.

I hope all the poking and prodding leads to good news Aims.

hip deep in pie

Nothing is funnier than Santino (in an online clip, not the aired show, I think) singing Nine Inch Nails' Closer ala Tim Gunn, with Daniel V cracking his ass up in the foreground.

I wish Obama would listen to this guy: On the Urgency of Restructuring Bank and Mortgage Debt, and of Abandoning Toxic Asset Purchases

It opens with 5 steps Congress should be taking. And is a lot clearer than Geithner's "it's not about ability" plan.
