Bayistas--quake?
Yikes!
Sorry, Dana. I sure hope something comes up quick.
Magnitude undetermined (as of 10:45).
Ouch, Dana -- good luck.
Aims--I have. It's ouchy but nothing a little ibuprofen can't handle. I found it less painful than a mammogram (or a bikini wax, for that matter).
A quick meara before I go grade:
Ugh, Dana, I'm sorry. That sucks.
There was a quake in the Bay Area? Zoinks! I better go check on some folks.
Gud, she's adorable. And Jesse's right, in the photo she reminds me of Abigail Breslin. Franny has freckles on her nose and I think they are delicious, although they have prompted me to start making her wear hats on sunny days as clearly the 50+ sunblock isn't enough.
bon bon, I keep meaning to say... Immanuel Kat is the best cat name ever.
Today's anniversary of the pencil eraser
On today's date, 1858, Hymen Lipman was granted a patent for attaching a piece of rubber to the end of a pencil. While it was certainly a stroke of genius, the courts didn't think it to be as groundbreaking as one might think. From Smithsonian:
Unfortunately for Lipman, the patent would later be revoked, when the U.S. Supreme Court rules in 1875 that a pencil with an eraser is just a pencil with an eraser and not a new invention.
Bummer. But in honor of this auspicious date, I think I'll erase something with the eraser on my pencil.
Someone from Half Moon Bay twittered an estimate of 5.0.
Sorry, Dana!
We put Owen on the bus and Olivia is doing a sticker book. I'm contemplating tidying up some more--crumbs need swept, counters washed and beds made. Don't know why I'm lacking energy today.

I'm guessing 5.2
Which I pulled from my ass....

Thanks. My mom seems to think that since it's in my neck, they'll sedate me. Any truth to that? Should I plan on going back to work after or plan on staying home?
