ugh Cash. It's not warm here yet, but it is at least sunny. A nice surprise since we were forecast for rain.

YAY an impromptu playdate for mac with another friend. I am finishing a knitting project and am going to try to patch up some of mac's pants.

It is warm here, which I am sure you wanted to know.

I managed to reschedule a hair appt for today, so I got that done.

Got a plastic expansion file for all the house stuff. Piles and piles of paper. Now I'm going to give myself a manicure and stare balefully at my closets and shelves and boxes, magically willing them to sort and pack themselves. And then I'll dye my hair. And tomorrow I will clean and grocery shop and stare balefully some more.

I seem to have spent the last few hours on a cleaning rampage.

Did you blackout and come to in a clean apartment?

Going back a ways, I had a year in Shelton Hall, too. I forget whether it was the fourth or fifth floor, lisa -- was your floor the one with the Eugene O'Neill suite?

Yes! 4th floor! That's funny. When were you there??

Riding turned out to be just fine. Well, hard but not because of the rain. A little scarier than normal but it was a route I know well. It was drizzly, though, not pouring. Fun!

I haven't looked in my middle room, where the leak is, yet though. Hope I still have some ceiling in there.

I think I'll take a little nap now! I've resigned myself to getting nothing much done today!

Looks like date 2 will be lunch next week.

Yay for clean apartment, shrift!!

I've had a remarkably productive day myself. After I got off work at B&N, I headed over to Sports Authority and picked up some swim goggles and nose plug, then went and got my hair cut so I can see while I swim, then I went to the pool and signed up for the year ($69 annual fee--not bad!) where I was recognized by the girl signing me up. She remembered me from when I worked out at the fitness center there over a year ago.

Now, all I have to do this evening is my dishes, my laundry, and then shave my legs so I can go swimming tomorrow morning--yay, swimming!

I did a bunch of shopping, and then came home and planted most of the seeds in my side garden and put up a new set of curtains. It's raining now, and we're expecting major storms this evening. As long as they don't result in death and major destruction, I quite like storms, so I'm pretty happy with the day.

This is why I love drop-off playdates at our house:

I have:

washed the dishes
sewn a button on a knitting project to finish it
hung up and put away all my clothes
organized three dresser drawers
sewn patches on two of mac's school pants
caught up on the internets
hung up mac artwork in my room (he tears it down anytime he gets really mad at me)

and the playdate is still here.

laundry is ready to go in, but I am going to wait in his mom getting here, I don't want to be down in the laundry room in case she buzzes then.

I think I might bake some cookies.

No, but at one point, I was in the bathroom standing atop a wobbly ladder yanking open a stubborn light fixture to replace a bulb. I'm shocked that it didn't end in a spectacular pratfall and a trip to the ER.
