I now have a temporary crown and have to chew on the left side of my mouth for two weeks. Also, no popcorn. Sigh. And I have to wait to eat anything until the numbness wears off so I don't chew on my cheek, and I'm really hungry (haven't had anything since 11:00 last night--late dinner). I've got a turkey sandwich waiting for me to get sensation in my right cheek, damnit!

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

I can't imagine having sex while someone other than my partner is in proximity. Hell, I don't want to do it if someone else is in the guest room.

I feel the same now, but when in college I had a very different sense of boundaries.

This is so me. If it would have only come down to sex, I wouldn't be worried. But it's got anything to do with my current tact regime.

Tricky 23.

The early 80s at a small town college, away from the diseases of the big cities, were a fun place to be. And naivete wasn't bad either.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Hmm, I just read that tomorrow is National Something-On-A-Stick Day.

Food on a stick is AWESOME.

Kathy, my sister in dental numbness!!! I had to get 4 fillings today (2 were replacing old ones, but 2 were new), and it took TWO HOURS. My jaw is so sore that I feel like I got sucker-punched. The novacaine wore off about 2 hours ago, but all I want is a smoothie so that I don't have to chew.

Between the high co-pay for my physical therapy, and the many fillings I need in my teeth, by the end of April I will have spent over a grand on healthcare. (February 2009-April 2009, inclusive.) That's a fucking LOT for 3 months.

OTOH, my back is much MUCH better, and yesterday was my final PT visit (they gave me a t-shirt for "graduating"), and my teeth -- well, if I don't get them patched up now, I might not have them in my head for long, so it has to be done.

This slows the hell out of my plan to pay off my credit card, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

K-Bug wants to be an RA next year, she is currently on the "alternate" list (apparently last year they went through the whole alternate list, so she has a decent chance). I can only imagine the stuff she will have to deal with.

My jaw is so sore that I feel like I got sucker-punched.

Did they give you the thing to put in the other side of the mouth to rest your teeth? I always get an ache in the hinge of my jaw if I don't get that thing, and I had them put it in early since my jaw was already starting to twinge after a few minutes. Apparently, my dentist isn't a big fan of it, but it works wonders for me and stops me from asking for a break so I can close my mouth for a bit.

I hope your teeth are better now!! I had to shell out $465 for today's work (40% of the total), and that didn't include the cleaning that I'm now on a three-month schedule for (I was on six-month cleaning appointments, but the hygenist wants to see me more often). I'll be paying for that when I go back in two weeks for the permanent crown (I hope that's not going to be too expensive!).

No -- I was wondering if they would, but then I thought it would take an hour or less, and by the time I started to realize we had passed the 90-minute mark, I kept expecting to be done, and and and -- your basic procrastination.

I have one more appointment in 2 weeks for a couple more fillings on the other side of my mouth, and then I'm done until my 6-month cleaning in September. Even with dental insurance, the total for both filling visits is $400.

OTOH, when I had to have the tooth pulled, that was only $86, and I expected it to be way more, so I guess it all evens out.
