Natter 63: Life after PuppyCam
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I haven't laser pointered him much because it puts Devi on Instant Destroy mode (she likes it,) so it has to be done in another room so not often, with only 2 rooms.
Soon, soon they likely will experience STAIRS! I'm gonna need to block off the crawlspace [link] at the back of the basement because you KNOW a cat will go up there be difficult and explorey in the scary and dark and smells, and if I can spend my whole life never crawling in there, it will be more than fine with me.
Totally true. Our NM feral cats lived their entire lives in our crawlspace and loved it. Love. It was perfect for backing in just out of arms reach of the human and disdainfully licking a paw.
Go you, Kathy! I need to follow your example. I hung too much hope on having a walkable gym, I think. I just need to get out there and walk at least. It's nice weather. I live in a pretty place. I should be outside.
And Kat, I'm sorry for the misery, but I have to say your number 6 made me laugh and laugh.
Exactly. It's all dusty and debris and a random spare DOOR that must have been there forever because of the layer of dust and my inspector got filthy crawling back there to check the kitchen plumbing. Plus old water stains and eck.
I also have to exactly Liese's reaction to #6. (And the rest. Don't want miserable Kat) I grinned.
One of my college roommates, a law student, had an astounding memory. While it was great for stuff like being able to cite law books verbatim, it also meant she could remember exactly every argument she'd ever had, every insult, every horrible experience pretty much in Technicolor.
When I'm having a bad day, old old forgettable stupid shames start playing on repeat. (Like when I went to the wrong location to deliver an order and ended up getting lost and then I ended up making the delivery an hour late. Like it matter now, 15 years later?)
I'd hate to remember all of them.
Liese, the main thing I'm doing is cutting out 90% of the fried foods (today's dinner will probably be my total fried food for the week), half of my Diet Coke intake (from around 10 bottles to 5 last week), and around 75% of my sweets. Just doing that has worked wonders so far!
Also, the diet place I go to gives me appetite suppresants so I don't get the mid-afternoon and late-night munchies that I always have. That really helps me a lot.
I'm refraining from posting to the neighborhood listserv. I want a little more assurance. But it is hard. Partly because there has been some negativity (you think we do kerfuffles? Heheheh. Mix in people who gravitate out of geography, not general interests) of late and I think a "HI! I'm moving in and let me tell you why even though you are kerfuffling!" might be a welcome antidote...OMG, I am THAT person. For all my hermit homebody introvert private NOW, I am neighborhoody (which y'all are now pointing and laughing.) I might be the superenthused newbody people alternate between mocking and embracing.
Gonna wait until 4/6. Really. That's when we are to inspect the work done. And if it isn't complete, closing slips. And it is raining tomorrow. On the old roof. That might still leak. Ahrg.
All neighborhood listserves have kerfuffles. -- speed of traffic which morphs into moms on cellphones dropping off kids at school , which turns in to graffiti and car break in posts. Over and over again
and then somebody post about the migration of the red admiral butterflies thru the neighborhood
Go, Kathy! Yay you!
Ooh, now I want to go waste some time on that website. I think I remember looking at it a while ago, and some of the stuff was jaw-dropping.
OMG, neighborhood boards? I don't know why I am surprised, but I am. Oooh, that would scare me! I couldn't do it. But YAY on your house! Big deal!
