Drown the peeps in your coffee! That would be fun!

YAY, FRIDAY!

We posted a job the other day and I have been Googling the applicants without reading their actual resumes. (Er, oops?) I've managed to put a few in a HELL NO pile just from the book reviews they've written on Amazon. Seriously, folks, we're a small department and where your degree came from matters so much less than if you're going to have a meaningful contribution to the water cooler conversation.

Do peeps float?

How many applications are you getting, Sparky? Lots from firm people?

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I promise to provide some of the most insightful and amusing watercooler talk EVER, but damn my forgetfulness about getting a law degree, huh?

If you let the peeps float, you're not drowning them!

I don't exactly know how many applications, because they have to go to the HR dept first, and I don't quite trust them to send them to me right away. I've got five from the first day and four are from academic librarians (only one local). The firm librarians probably have to re-work their resumes to parallel our ad. I've also gotten a number of questions from people who saw the post on the listserv.
