A have a 15 year old Honda Civic, but finding a relatively inexpensive new car with better fuel economy doesn't leave a lot of selection.

If I were in charge of UFO Hunters they'd be going out each week and mostly busting those sort of incidents, at least getting them down to the level of "well, no radar showed activity, and nobody else in the vicinity seems to have seen anything in the sky" and so on.

For that matter, I DO believe in UFOs -- that there are unexplained flying objects (or at least sky phenomenon) that are out there. I just don't believe they're aliens.

I've been watching a few shows on History Channel lately. What the Victorians Did For Us is a little flippant for my taste in documentaries, but an entertaining British look at the era. Civil War Journal is a bit disjointed, though they may be showing the episodes out of order. History's Turning Points is probably too basic in many ways, but you can only do so much in half an hour.

I think it's the History Channel (or maybe Discovery?) that's has a geology-based show called "How the Earth Was Made." They had a two-hour overview last year that I really liked (so much that I still have it on my dvr), and it's now a series. They've had eps on the San Andreas Fault, the Marianas Trench, and a few others that are all really interesting.

I've seen a number of episodes of Ghost Hunters on SyFy since my wife watches the show. Two things really struck me. First, why do they always turn off the lights when even the people telling their stories almost never mention the lights being off? But more importantly, if hauntings really worked they way they say they do, proving the existence of ghosts should be a slam dunk, so why don't they actually investigate it? Actually, I think I already know the answers to those questions.

You people are applying logic to these shows. Why can't you just accept them for their unintentional comedy value.

Sigh. My Monday ER visit did break the back of that migraine, but I'd really like to feel well again, you know? Really pain-free. Pain management guy this morning. I am trying not to get tense about it beforehand. But the chances he actually discussed pain management with my migraine guy seem slim. I'm sure he'll want to do another procedure in a few weeks.
